Dr Kim Prater
From a young age I was heavily involved in Surf Life Saving, competing in regional, state and national levels. Due to the amount of sport I was doing I sustained a vast array of sports related injuries, the most chronic of which being a recurrent hamstring strain. My mother took me to see a number of health care professionals with limited success. It wasn’t until I was taken to see a chiropractor, who not only addressed the hamstring tear itself, but also my alignment, biomechanical and core stability issues, did I see any significant results. Seeing the potential chiropractic care had on increasing sporting performance and injury prevention first hand inspired me to pursue a career in chiropractic. To fulfil this I studied at Murdoch School of Chiropractic for 5 years and graduated with distinction. During my time at university I attended a number of extra-curricular courses and seminars to expand my knowledge and skill base including Certificate III and IV in Personal Training, Certification in Dry Needling and a number of paediatric, neurological and nutritional seminars. To me, chiropractic care extends further than the chiropractic adjustment. I believe that soft tissue, nutritional and emotional issues must also be addressed for optimal health to be achieved. I am passionate, energetic and dedicated and I look forward to working with you at Biotune to achieve your own personal health goals.
