I usually hate having treatments but Hannah made the experience both fun and calming. Plus, the results are incredible. I’d highly recommend that you give it a go.” TV presenter Matt Johnson

Sonja Shah-Williams

Job Title:
  Consultant
Specialisations:
  Ayurvedic Medicine
Biography:
Ayurveda is a medical science that has been in existence for thousands of years. It is the first truly holistic medicine system on the planet, and its purpose is to heal and maintain quality of life. It could be described as the art of living well through the deep understanding of each person’s unique mind, body and spiritual constitution. Where most medical systems tend to suppress symptoms, rather than prevent recurrence, Ayurveda recognises the importance of the individual’s response to various contributory factors to health and wellbeing- Ayurveda  treats the whole being, not only parts, by eliminating causative factors. The five elements of ether, air, fire, water and earth, present in everything and everyone, are grouped in Ayurveda into three functional principles, or doshas – vata, pitta and kapha. We all have a unique combination of the ‘qualities’ seen in these doshas, and they need to be kept in balance in order to be in optimum health. Ayurveda sees disease as the result of allowing our natural equilibrium to remain imbalanced for a period of time, and teaches us the importance of taking responsibility for our own health. Sonja conducts detailed consultations and diagnostic tests to establish her clients’ constitution type and decide where any imbalance lies. She then creates individually tailored programmes of nutrition and lifestyle adjustments. Sonja places great emphasis on health of the mind, and helps people to learn how to reduce and manage stress, so that they can make sensible nutrition and lifestyle choices.  Here at Grace Belgravia, she specialises in stress reduction, digestive imbalances and strengthening the immune system. Sonja’s signature deep face massage is prescribed as part of a stress reduction and management programme. It works on marma (energy) points and is suited to those experiencing anxiety and insomnia. Wonderful natural products such as saffron oil, liquorice, sandalwood, and rosewater rejuvenate and nourish tired and stressed facial nerves and muscles. The massage also acts as a natural facelift!

The first step towards booking your initial Grace infusion is for you to contact our dedicated Grace Medical reception team  or by email. Please be sure to book at least one week in advance to allow time for the necessary paperwork.

INFUSION CONSULTATION PROCESS

We will ask you to fill out our medical history questionnaire which we can send to you by post or email. You must complete this form and return it to us at least 48 hours before your appointment, or the nurse will not be able to proceed with the consultation. This allows the doctor enough time to thoroughly review your questionnaire.

Under certain circumstances, we may decide that would be more appropriate for you to see another Grace practitioner and will refer you for ongoing care and management if you so choose.

On the day of your appointment, you will have an initial consultation with our specialist nurse during the first 15 minutes. This consultation gives you the opportunity to discuss your Medical History Questionnaire and any questions or concerns that you may have. Blood tests are available for suspected deficiencies or sensitivities.

We will always make certain that you are aware of the expected cost of our infusion services so there will be no surprises on the day and our nurse will be available should you have any queries or concerns.

THE INFUSION

Most infusions take approximately one hour. We will ask you to make yourself at home in one of our comfortable infusion chairs. Now you can sit back, relax and let your body be revitalised.

Once you are relaxed, a small, flexible tube, about the size of a pinhead, will be inserted into a vein guided by a needle which is then removed when the tube is in place. The tube will then be connected to the infusion which will flow gently into your bloodstream, giving your body immediate access to essential vitamins, minerals and amino acids.

Your blood pressure and heart rate will be monitored by our nurse before and after the infusion. Once the infusion is complete, the tube will be removed from your arm and a small plaster will be applied.

Then, when you feel ready, you are able to get up and go. We will make sure there is ample time for you to have any questions or concerns answered before you leave.

Dr Hunter’s scientifically and physiologically correct methodology addresses the body as a ‘whole’ – from the inside and out, optimizing skin and body health. Dr Hunter is an authority on ingredients, cosmetic technology, what works and why, and what is the healthiest and best alternative for maximizing and maintaining health and beauty. She provides the most pragmatic, doable and result-producing solutions for treating acne, ageing, skin diseases, and promoting skin restoration and prevention for men, women and teens. Dr Hunter is also a specialist in bio-identical hormone treatment and strongly believes that an imbalance in hormones is often the cause of symptoms such as poor sleeping, anxiety, ageing and low adrenal gland function. Her ‘Skin Physiology’ range of bio-identical hormones are non-toxic, help decrease age-related degeneration and the low dosages are individualized to each particular patient.
