Decolletage Rejuvenation (45 mins)

With age and the effects of the environment the supporting components of our skin deplete and elastin and collagen fibres reduce. When MPl is delivered into the skin the energy stimulates collagen and elastin production by causing a controlled and minor trauma which results in firmer, smoother skin over a period of time. We cannot possibly stop the ageing process but these treatments are designed to keep stimulating Collagen fibres so that they are constantly being produced. Your Therapist will give you advice on the best Antioxidants to use at home so you can help your skin to keep its best on a daily basis. 

Does it really work?

Yes. We cannot fight against natural ageing but we can certainly stop premature ageing caused by the environment, smoking, and alcohol or City living. By having MPL treatments your skin will be encouraged to continually renew itself.

 How many treatments will I need?

An initial weekly course of six or eight will be necessary to stimulate the collagen. The results will be most noticeable after your first course and then maintenance treatments are recommended once a month after to maintain the results. This programme will ensure long term fabulously toned skin, whatever your age.

MPL (Multi Pulsed Light ) technology is second to none when it comes to rejuvenating the skin. It works by stimulating the Collagen fibres, increasing blood flow in the local area and helping skin care products to work much deeper and better under the skin.

Acne Facial (30 mins)

Acne Vulgaris is produced when a there is a surge of male hormones, this can happen to both men and women. Although there is no cure for Acne it is efficiently controlled by the use of certain filters in the MPL which destroy P Acne Bacteria the prime symptom of acne in turn reducing the inflammation and restoring normal oil levels in the skin and hormones in the local area.

Why should I choose MPL for Acne?

MPL is an innovative and drug free method for treating Acne. MPl can actually decrease the over production of the sebaceous glands, the prime cause of inflammation and infection. A full comprehensive home care routine is advised alongside your treatments to further enhance your skins health and to ensure longer periods of clearer, smoother spot free skin.

 How is the procedure carried out?

Skin is cleansed and a layer of sterile gel applied to the whole surface. No hard pressure is applied during the treatment to ensure total comfort in the case of sore and infected lesions. After the MPL has treated the whole face your Therapist may perform extractions of blackheads and whiteheads. The skin is then cooled with cold compresses to close the pores and an appropriate after cream is applied. The skin will feel a little warm and may be red, this is usually temporary and if needed makeup can be applied within half an hour. Mineral makeup is ideal for Acne patients.

 

Can I have MPL for Acne whilst taking prescribed medication?

No. All oral and topical medications need to stop at least six months before you start MPL treatments unless otherwise authorised by your GP or specialist. This is because the skin would be compromised by internal and external treatments.

An excellent treatment for people new to skin peels. This peel is formulated to address pore congestion, blemishes, wrinkles, other signs of ageing, and irritation. Gel Peel SM combines Salicylic and Mandelic acids to improve problematic/dull skin and stimulates skin renewal, essential for a fresh glow. This is the perfect peel for sensitive skin too.

Suitable for more tolerant skin. Micropeel Plus 30 helps to reduce the appearance of acne, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, laxity, dullness, and skin imperfections.

IPL Hair Removal

IPL Hair Removal - SkinKind

MPL heats the hair shaft and surrounding appendages and destroys the connection between the bulb and the follicle preventing the regrowth of a new hair. As the hair bulb is the target for MPL, it is best to only shave or use hair removal cream in between treatments so that the root of the hair stays in place.

Am I suitable for MPL? 

Unlike traditional IPL, MPL can treat darker skin, (light and dark Asian and mixed race) tones and lighter hair (Dark Blonde) thanks to the inclusion of Radio Frequency. In some cases very dark skin tones may be referred to a Dermatologist for further advice.

 How many sessions will I need?

A Minimum of 6 sessions is required for every person to ensure at least 65-90% reduction. Some people may need more than one course. Single top up sessions can be once or twice a year after.

What is MPL (Multi Pulsed Light)?

 Multi Pulsed Light technology is a dynamic, tried and tested method for Hair Removal and Skin Rejuvenation. With the inclusion of Bi Polar Radio Frequency we can achieve results more superior than classic IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and Laser. It is less painful than traditional IPL and Laser as we can use a greater range of settings meaning that each client receives a bespoke treatment. MPL is highly effective, safe, non-invasive and gives unrivalled results.

Dermaroller™ (1 hour 30 mins)

Few treatments can boast the success of the Derma Roller.  A specially designed surface fitted with minute surgical micro-needles is applied to your skin, stimulating the production of natural substances which refresh your skin. The method is known as skin needling, and has become extremely popular.


Conditions treated by the Derma Roller (aka Skin Needling)

The Derma Roller makes use of an amazing technique called skin needling during which the roller’s micro-needles stimulate the deeper layers of your skin encouraging the production of Collagen. The more Collagen in the skin, the more youthful the appearance and this method keeps the Collagen fibres active, meaning long lasting results. Skin Needling has been used by Dermatologist's since the early 1900's to repair damaged and scarred skin. An indirect effect of this caused impressive anti-ageing results, thus, filtering into the Beauty Industry. Skin needling is a proven method of skin smoothing and loved by every A-list celebrity.

 How does skin needling work? 

 The concept of skin needling is based on the skin’s natural ability to repair itself whenever it encounters physical damage such as cuts, burns and other abrasions. Immediately after an injury occurs to the skin our body reuses the damaged collagen and elastin fibres as well as other damaged skin components to produce new ones. Skin needling allows for controlled induction of the skin’s self repair mechanism by creating micro “injuries” in the skin which triggers new collagen synthesis, yet does not pose the risk of permanent scarring. The result is smoother, firmer and younger looking skin.

Radiofrequency Body Contouring (45 mins)

Radio Frequency is a safe and non-invasive way of transferring heat into the skin to stimulate repair of the Collagen fibres, a procedure originally used in 1892 by Medical Practitioner’s to repair skin tissue. Used with MPL in hair removal, we can increase the heat rather than the light energy for dark skin tones and lighter hair thus improving results for these types without compromising the skins’ pigmentation making it the most sophisticated method so far. As well as improving hair removal results, Radio Frequency alone can be used for Skin Tightening, improving the contour of the face around the jawline and neck, reduce puffy and lined eyes and tighten certain areas on the body such as the dreaded 'Bingo Wings'.

 What is the recovery time?

Following treatment, you may immediately resume all routine activities.  You may notice slight redness around the treatment area, this is normal and will usually disappear in a couple of hours.

SkinKind was established in 2011 by myself, Nicola Christophi a qualified  Beauty Therapist with 19 years experience in the beauty industry.  For the first part of my career I worked abroad in luxurious hotels meeting wonderful clients from all over the world. When I arrived back home in the UK in 1995 after my travels I worked locally in a boutique salon where I trained in Neals Yard Remedies, Clarins Paris, Decleor, Thalgo, Dermalogica and Guinot. 

After having my daughter I went to work in central London for The Refinery Spa where I stayed for almost ten years. I gained valuable experience here, not only in other treatments such as Hot Stone and Indian Head Massage but I learned the art of giving five star service. It was all about making the client feel important and this is a philosophy I still adhere to every day at my clinic. Most of the clients I treated at The Refinery were VIP's and Celebrities.

In 2007, Aesthetic treatments were becoming more and more popular. It was at this time I trained in Laser Hair Removal, Microdermabrasion, Skin Peels and Dermaroller.
 
I left the Refinery to work for Sk:n Clinics, here I gained my Core of Knowledge Diploma in Laser and began specialising in Laser Hair Removal,  Tattoo Removal and Skin Peels. I was also privileged to work with some of the UK’s most respected Dermatologists.

I regularly attend the beauty shows  looking for new and innovative treatments to offer my clients at SkinKind so you are guaranteed to know first about the latest beauty treatments and products.
