I bought a voucher on living social, for IPL treatment at Antech Hair Clinic on a large body area (lower legs). I paid $149 for 1 year of unlimited treatments, my intention was to reduce hair growth on my lower legs with a flexible treatment schedule over the course of one year.
In summary, I have paid $350 (including tax) for six IPL treatments on my lower legs, including the knee area, more than double my original investment and on a reduced treatment schedule.
The consultant told me that 'unlimited' really meant six treatments over the course of 1 year. This was a surprise to me because the voucher did not mention a defined number of treatments. The consultant also told me that the knee area was not considered part of the lower legs. She told me that I would have to pay extra for the knee area, in addition to the lower legs. We agreed on an additional fee of $150, doubling my cost.
I feel manipulated by Antech Clinic. I was socially engineered to pay double the cost for IPL treatments on a reduced treatment schedule. Every stage of my interaction with Antech Hair Clinic has focused on reducing treatment time, minimizing the treatment area as well as maximizing the cost of the treatment to me, the client. I do not believe Antech cares about my hair removal, just about profits. Antech Hair Clinic has not made one gesture toward maximizing the effectiveness of their hair removal treatment.
