About Medical Therapies Ltd - Leeds

Dr Nair is a fully qualified and practicing GP and Aesthetic Practitioner. She has clinics in Bishop Auckland, Durham, Leeds and Mayfair, London, and has been providing Aesthetic treatments for the past 8 years. Having had surgical training as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist she has the finesse and is able to give that  finishing touches to the treatments she provides.
She firmly believes that Aesthetic treatments should be used to provide a natural appearance rather than giving an end result which looks obviously unnatural and artificial.This fine balance should be maintained and procedure should be fine tuned to  suit each client individually.

5 50 Dermal Fillers

I went to see Dr Nair after doing a lot of research on clinics in my area. I had a consultation first where we discussed what would be best for me. I returned a week later to have Voluma fillers in my cheeks and chin (jowls are now gone) and am very pleased with the results. Dr Nair is extremely professional, friendly and, as you would expect from a Doctor, knowledgable. I put my trust in Dr Nair and wouldn’t go anywhere else now. This lady knows what she is doing.

Dr Nair is very professional before, during and after treatment. She has a lovely bedside manner, making sure you are comfortable during your procedure. It certainly helps the fact that she is a Doctor to put your mind at ease but she also explains everything you need to know thoroughly before starting and she also asks if you have any questions. I will certainly be using Poornima Nair at a later date. Wonderful Service.

Treatment for wrinkles and fillers. Upon arrival I was greeted and was promptly seen by the DR providing the treatment where I received my free consultation and decided to go ahead with the treatment. I will be going back for more.

The cause is a loss of facial volume and tissue elasticity in the tissues below the eye .

Non-Surgical Nose Job

Dermal filler is used to smoothen any lumps and dips in the nasal bright. The risks involved in treating the tip of the nose and the area at the very top of the nose are greater than at other parts of the nose- the risk of accidental injection of the dermal filler into a tiny blood vessel is greatest at the above mentioned areas, which can lead to blackening and non viability of the skin as the blood supply is blocked off. Other side effects/risks: Swelling. bruising,lumpiness,rarely infection and also reports of blindness ( happens when the filler is accidentally injected into blood vessels- appropriate and necessary precaution is taken before injecting to avoid this, by aspirating first to check that blood is not being drawn up, but there is that small element of risk).Effects seen immediately, and last for 9-12m, sometimes longer.

Spider Veins Treatment

Fine veins on the face appear red threadlike and are called Telangiectasia. These are easily and effectively treated with diathermy where a mild current is passed through a very fine needle . The area is numbed with some local anaesthetic cream , applied about 30m before the procedure. The very fine veins are then touched with the diathermy needle, which blanches them. You may require more than 1 treatment, usually 2. Side effects:Redness, swelling, scarring ( rare).You may continue to develop new threadveins if you are prone to them.

Microsclerotherapy

Threadveins on legs are common and can be unsightly . These are easily treated by injecting a dilute irritant solution ( Fibrovein) into these veins via a fine needle. This initiates an inflammatory response which finally closes the veins which then get absorbed . Initial bruising and swelling are common side effects. Multiple treatments may be required. Once treated the vein does not reappear, but the procedure does not prevent veins from continuing to appear in other sites if you have a predisposition to them. 

Side effects: swelling, bruising,staing of the surround skin where injected- this is due to the blood cells rupturing and the haemosiderin pigment in blood stains the skin- this could last upto18m. Allergic reaction is rare. Rarely a small ulcer may form if Fibrovein gets into a tiny artery instead of the vein, this may lead to skin death around the injection- forming an ulcer. These tend to heal well, but may leave a scar.After a treatment , your skin will look worse than what you came in with, but this will resolve in the following days!
