Private Patients Welcome

Dr Ian Anderson

Job Title:
  General Practitioner

Having worked for many years as a GP and then in Cruise medicine, I now work mainly in the aesthetic field as a non surgical practitioner offering treatments such as [Treatment name removed] and fillers. Over the last 8 years I have built up a wealth of experience working for Harley Medical Group in London, Bristol, Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester. I also see patients at home and in Congleton and Leicester.

Ships medical officer for Cunard and Seabourne Cruise ships. Worked on QE2, Caronia, Seabourne Sun and Sea Goddess 2 during this time, for periods of up to 3 months. The post involved providing medical care for both passengers and crew on board, public health duties on the ship and occupational health advice to the crewmembers.

My role included providing a wide range of both primary and secondary care to patients, including admission, intensive care for critically ill patients, thrombolysis following myocardial infarction, sedation and manipulation of fractures and dislocations and arranging subsequent referral and investigation as appropriate, including arranging and coordinating helicopter evacuation when necessary.

The service to the passengers was on a private basis and I am now accustomed to the high demands and expectations of private patients. I resigned from this post in order to return home to my wife and family and to work at home as a cosmetic practitioner.

1984-2000 Principal in General Practice
I was a partner in a busy 7 man practice in Leicester , with a personal list of over 2000 patients until I resigned in 2000.

I found working in the NHS frustrating and restrictive and took the opportunity to change career when my two children left home for further education.
