Laser Hair Removal (30 mins, 6 sessions)

Laser hair removal reduces unwanted hair growth on the face and body, and is carried out with a laser hair removal system. A course is usually 6 to 8 sessions, around two months apart, and is normally planned for autumn and winter because of sun exposure. Reduction is substantial rather than total, and how much is achieved differs from patient to patient. Dense dark body hair may prompt a hormone test first. Intimate-area sessions for male patients are carried out by a male nurse. Sessions are performed by trained clinic staff. Fine, light-coloured facial hair that the laser cannot target is lightened with bleaching instead.

Laser Lipolysis

Laser lipolysis is used for fat under the chin, the area patients usually describe as a double chin. The dermatologist examines the area and carries out the procedure in a single session. A mole check is an examination of the pigmented lesions on the skin using dermoscopy, which magnifies the mole and shows structures that are not visible to the naked eye. Nail Fungus Treatment

Nail changes are not always fungal, so the dermatologist examines the nail and confirms the diagnosis before starting treatment. Where a fungal infection (onychomycosis) is present, the treatment is explained together with how long it takes, since nails grow slowly and improvement is gradual. Allergy Testing

Allergy testing at the clinic is done from a blood sample. Three tests are available, each covering a different set of allergens: a food allergy test, a respiratory allergy test and a molecular allergy test. The dermatologist takes the blood sample at the clinic and it is analysed by an external laboratory; results are usually available within one to two days. The dermatologist then explains what the results mean and what follows from them. The sample is taken by the dermatologist personally.

Deep Cleansing Facial

A medical skin care session starts with a skin analysis to establish the skin type, and the products used are then selected accordingly. Cleansing of the pores is carried out with a hydra-cleansing device, and the session takes about an hour. It is frequently used as the first step before another treatment on the same day, for example a carbon laser peel (Hollywood peel) or microneedling. It is carried out by the clinic's trained aesthetic staff, with the dermatologist deciding whether it is suitable and what should follow.
