To the ladies and gents who are thinking of getting lip fillers. I am twenty-two years old and naturally I had very thin lips. They have always been a huge insecurity ever since I could remember. I always wanted to get them done, but I had to wait until I was old enough. I was extremely scared and nervous to get them done for three main factors; 1. They would look like a horrible celebrity job, 2. The pain, and 3. The price. I started researching trying to find any information I could find because no one I knew had them done. All I found online was about swelling for a week, horrible bruising, allergic reactions, etc. The prices were about $700+, so I was put off. November 2015, I decided to just get it over and done with. I had 1 ml of Restalyn done; they will give you an ice pack for your lips to numb. I would advise going against having a local anaesthetic because that will swell your lips and it will be more difficult for your injector to ensure they've done the job evenly. It does not hurt. I thought it would be because the area is so sensitive, but I think getting injections in your arms is worse! The only area I felt was sensitive was near the corners of my mouth; a little uncomfortable but totally fine and bearable. The lip filler itself actually has anaesthetic in it, so after a few jabs you won't feel a thing. Your lips will feel huge at the time of injecting, but they do not look how they feel. Ensure you take three days off work initially, as on day two, they will swell up massive! And you may feel like, "Oh no, what have I done!" The swelling will go down by the third day. You will also feel balls, almost like marbles in your lips; they will always be there and eventually disappear (if you stop injecting), or get smaller as the product starts to settle in. No one else can feel them when they touch them, just you! Your lips may still be a little puffy on the fourth day, but you will miss that stage when they go down more! You may experience some bruising. I had some, but it's easily covered with foundation or concealer, even lip stick. Friday, March 4th, I had an extra ml done, so now I am a 2 ml gal! I was worried because I had a photo shoot to do on Sunday, March 6th, so I thought they would be even bigger and more bruised. But they are beautiful! I love them so much. I wouldn't go any bigger only because It wouldn't suit my face. But if any of you out there with little lips or even big lips are considering them, I 100% recommend it, as it totally changed me as a person and in my confidence. I love them so much! Also, the value was about $590. Skin Resus! The reception staff are so polite and welcoming, you feel so comfortable as you walk in. The clinic is self is very clean and hygienic and beautifully new! I had my first lip filler treatment (1ml Restalyn) done with Katie, the nurse. She made me feel so comfortable, happy, excited, and I had complete trust in her! She gave me all the information I asked for, and was so patient and understanding. She's an asset to the company and did an amazing job, and I could not have been happier! The second time I decided to get another ml, so, in total 2ml, this time it was done with the doctor. He was so professional, considerate, and honest with me. I have small lips, and I was worried I was going to look terrible, which he assured me I would not, and gave me his most professional and honest opinion. In saying this, I had to do a photoshoot two days later, and I had no bruising and the swelling was at a bare minimum. He and Katie I would recommend to anyone who is going to have the treatment done, and any other treatment, for that matter. I'm sure all the other employees are just as perfect as these two, however, I have only had my experiences done by these two! I have known people to have their treatments done at some other clinics in Perth, and it made me never want to go there! Go to Skin Resus; they will always carry out a professional, natural procedure, and all the happiness and confidence you gain from it is totally worth every penny. Thank you so much, Skin Resus!
