So impressed from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Flew out to Istanbul in November 2020 for a gastric bypass. we were met as arranged at the airport and driven to our lovely hotel which was very nice, very clean. We were collected from our hotel to have our pre-op tests. The tests were very thorough, and so were the doctors. The day of the surgery we were collected from our hotel and arrived at the clinic our room was like a hotel room very comfortable, clean everything you could need. Everything step of our treatment was explained and that was reassuring.

After surgery no discomfort, the staff coming in every hour or so to check on us. I feel that pain relief and treatment are far superior to the UK. The surgeon came to check on us various times throughout my 2-day stay. After leaving the clinic I had one last night at the hotel before my flight home. I can honestly say that from start to finish the staff from this clinic have gone above and beyond to provide me with the surgery I asked for. I would highly recommend Istanbul obesity clinic. Thank you to all the staff you all amazing.

Travelled out from the U.K. in Nov 2020 for a gastric bypass revision (original RNY bypass 15 years ago).

Please be mindful that revisions are always more expensive than original bypass due to complexity of the surgery. Excellent service from the minute they pick you up at the airport to the minute they drop you back at the airport. Nothing is too much trouble. Lovely hotel, fantastic hospital clinic, thorough amount of tests prior to surgery. I am a registered nurse and was extremely impressed at the level of care given throughout the stay.

The whole team are extremely friendly and the Surgeon is amazing. I would highly recommend and great value for money. (A third of the price in the U.K. and I can honestly say hospital care was far superior to the U.K.)

I had the gastric sleeve surgery.

Going home on Thur just felt uncomfortable but not in pain as such and only had surgery on Tuesday. Hotel and hospital are so clean and beautiful... everything went well, doctors come in and out to actually see you which is so good.. for the price comparison the UK and Turkey is soo much cheaper and so much better, the only downside is the language barrier but when they don't understand they use Google translate which helps.

I've had surgery at another place in turkey which I would not recommend at all. I've been recommended this place by lots of friends which is why I went back the difference from the other place in Istanbul I had been to 2 years prior is madness, you're treated so well.

Easy friendly Booking service. The surgeon Dr Bora is excellent and a lovely man. The hospital is very clean and well equipped. I would definitely recommend this group for surgery with doctor Bora. I was 15st4lb and I had a gastric sleeve, and I’m doing fabulous 3months post-op, plus there was no pain after the surgery. I’d highly recommend a gastric sleeve to anyone overweight, I wish I’d have had it done years ago! I feel so much healthier now. Thank you, doctor Bora and the team x

Outstanding treatment from Transfers to surgery.
Around the clock care. Prof Bora Koc is a ver thorough bubbly character who is dedicated to his work and his team. They are very well structured and regimental in all your care before and after. The only downside is the food after so maybe take some protein shake in with you.

I had a gastric sleeve operation on the 8th of November 2018. The personal and the doctor was very good and all the care was perfect! I was never nervous. And it was a good value for the money! I found the clinic here at whatclinic. I highly recommend this.

We arrived in Istanbul on Monday 10th, had all a pre-op tests done on Tuesday, surgery on Wednesday. Fantastic care, the surgeon was great and put us all at ease. My daughter and granddaughter were getting it done with me and we are all delighted with results, we were able to shower, walk, to be honest, felt so well I had to remember I had surgery. No pain, just a little cramp now and again but not for long, delighted I went ahead with it. If there was any improvement for English clients could I suggest maybe better internet connection information in rooms as we had to constantly go to reception for them to connect us and I think they were getting fed up with us, maybe more English channels on TV would really help as the days can belong? An English speaking person on the floor would be great, although the staff were fantastic and really friendly.
There was a breakdown in communication. Hope this helps if you are going to aim at the UK/Ireland market.

Soooo happy I chose Obesity Academy for my procedure. I had revisional surgery from gastric band to the gastric sleeve with loop/transit bipartition. From start to finish Fatih was helpful, professional and accommodating. Dr Bora Koc and his team made me so comfortable, the hospital was nothing short of luxurious. I went on my own to another country for life-changing surgery which was daunting by itself but I will never regret my decision. The care received was 10 star and the results are amazing. I travelled to Istanbul from England in May 2019 to have the gastric sleeve. From the off, Fatih was very graceful in accepting my sudden (and early morning) request to attend the clinic on short notice. I had given serious thought to bariatric surgery for over a year, but in the end, it was a quick decision to get it done, and before I knew it flights were booked and I was away! I chose this clinic because of the great price and the great review's, and I was not disappointed.

The hotel was very nice, the clinic is clean and I felt well cared for during my stay. I travelled alone but did not feel at risk at any time. Fatih drove me from place to place and I really enjoyed his company. I had tests at the clinic first and the operation the next day. The operation went as planned, I was made comfortable afterwards and well cared for by the nurses. There were daily visits from the surgeons, both morning and evening.

I would advise that you take someone with you for the company as you are far from home. That is the only thing I would change, but this is no reflection on the clinic. However I did it, and although I was homesick before I knew it, I was flying back to the UK.

The results have been fantastic, I have lost two and a half stone already, which averages over 2 pounds a week, which I'm very happy with. My relationship with food has positively changed completely.

I worked through the psychological problems in the very beginning (the liquid stage) with the help of advice forums, and never losing sight of why I had the operation in the first place and was soon over this phase, and with a new outlook regarding food. Plus the dietician was on hand on WhatsApp to offer advice and support.
I highly recommend Dr Koc as a surgeon, I had zero complications and he is a great professional. I highly recommend the clinic and the staff. This has been life-changing for me already. If I had to do it all again I would not hesitate. Thank you so much!

I came from England for a gastric bypass, the Coordinator Fatih greets you at the airport and takes you to the hotel where you stay for 2 nights, then you are taken to the hospital for tests and the following day surgery. The hospital is very clean and tidy, I took a companion with me and there was a bed for her and her meals/drinks were included in the price.

Dr Bora was very professional and would explain everything in detail. There were 3 female nurses on duty when I stayed, they were all really caring and would help you with anything you needed although none of them spoke any English so it was difficult to translate at times.

Overall, I would recommend this hospital and have already lost 13 pounds in 4 days.

I can not fault the bariatric clinic and Dr Bora Koc at Kolan International Hospital. I flew from England to get a gastric sleeve. The staff were all extremely through and the care was of a far higher standard than anything I have received in England. Fatih Ozturk was a great translator and constant support as I travelled alone. The hospital was spotless and I was given a lovely suit within the clinic.

They put me at ease and everything went so smoothly. I can't thank them enough. I can highly recommend them. 5 *

I very recently had the gastric sleeve with transit bi-partition surgery (2 weeks ago) in Turkey. Fatih was exceptional in helping me plan my surgery — providing me with all the details necessary to make my decision for when we arrived in Turkey, to assist and take us where we needed to go.

He was kind enough to take us to the hospital to meet with Dr Koç and then back to the hotel where we opted to stay prior to the surgery and back again the day of my pre-surgical tests.

From the very first moment, I was impressed with the facilities, the staff, the nurses, and the doctors. The Kolan Hospital is a 5-star facility that was beyond my expectations. We were provided with a private room so that my husband could stay with me. They provided him with 3 meals a day.

Meanwhile, I was taken care of by the best team for the full 5 days I was there. Dr Koç, Dr Mehdi, Zeynep who took me all over the hospital for my pre-surgical tests, all the nurses but particularly Banu, Mehmet, Asli, Simge, Dr Koç’s assistants and coordinators Selin and Yelda, the dietician Merve!

I can’t thank them enough for making my surgery a reality and for making the whole experience absolutely pleasant.

I would highly recommend having your surgery with Dr Koç - you will not regret it.
