Melbourne Gastro-Oesophageal Surgery is a practice which specializes in the care of patients with problems of the stomach and oesophagus. Doctors Michael Hii and Salena Ward are extensively trained surgeons who perform surgery for cancerous and non cancerous conditions of the oesophagus and stomach, as well as multiple weight loss surgical procedures after a thorough clinical assessment and consultation.

Consultations are offered across much of Melbourne, including Box Hill, Bundoora, Burwood, East Melbourne,Lilydale and Werribee.

Both surgeons have worked for many years in Melbourne, having undergone initial surgical training at St Vincent’s, The Alfred and Box Hill hospitals and then have spent several years training in Upper Gastrointestinal (Upper GI) Surgery and Obesity Surgery in Melbourne, interstate and overseas.

Dr Hii and Dr Ward offer thorough consultation and assessment in order to help patients make informed decisions about their conditions and potential surgical procedures. They believe that optimal surgical performance and attention to detail while caring for patients is essential for achieving the best results.

Mr Michael Hii

Job Title:

Mr Michael Hii is an Upper Gastro Intestinal surgeon, who specializes in diseases of the oesophagus, stomach and adrenal glands. Mr Hii completed training in general surgery in Melbourne and then went on to fulfil an additional three years of specialization in some of the best centres in the world for oesophago-gastric surgery. He currently works as a specialist consultant at St Vincent's Public Hospital and Box Hill Public Hospital. He runs a private practice seeing patients in East Melbourne, Box Hill, Bendigo and Werribee.
