Dr Katie Greener
Biography:
I trained at Charing Cross Hospital Medical School, London, and after Imagecompleting several years working in different hospitals and departments, qualified as a GP. Most of my GP training was carried out in Salisbury where I subsequently became a partner in a busy city practice.
My interest in acupuncture started during GP training, when I was able to spend some time at the Centre for Complementary Medicine, in Southampton. I found this aspect of medicine fascinating and wanted to use it to complement the other aspects of General Practice. Following training in Western Acupuncture I began to use acupuncture occasionally in practice for treating simple musculoskeletal problems. Unfortunately at that time there was some reluctance on the part of the profession to accept acupuncture as a valid treatment. However, with time, the success and popularity of acupuncture has grown to the point where it is today recognised as a valuable addition to conventional western practices.
