Rebecca Minton

Biography:
Rebecca carried out extensive training with the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine gaining a licence to practice acupuncture (LicAc), along with a BSc (Hons) degree. Her training covered 5 element acupuncture, biomedical sciences, traditional Chinese medicine, tui na and qi gong. Rebecca continues to develop her clinical skills with ongoing postgraduate training and has developed particular interest in the areas of gynaecology, promoting male and female fertility, treating stress, emotional wellbeing, long term health complaints and acute pain. Rebecca is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), the leading self-regulatory body for the practice of traditional acupuncture in the UK, whose voluntary register is approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care. She is also part of the Acupuncture for Childbirth Team (ACT Oxford), an established group of acupuncturists with an interest in fertility, pregnancy, labour and post-natal care. Rebecca has had a life long interest in mindfulness and compassion. Her work background outside of acupuncture has included successfully mentoring and building therapeutic relationships with disengaged and vulnerable young people and adults. This valuable experience in combination with acupuncture training leads her to generate a safe and nurturing environment for her patients whilst they regain their health. Rebecca is passionate about building therapeutic relationships that maintain professional standards as well as providing excellent levels of care in an open, friendly environment. Rebecca discovered acupuncture whilst working in an wholefood supermarket and although having a healthy lifestyle, illness was still an issue. After trying different forms of healthcare she turned to acupuncture through a recommendation made by a friend. The treatments not only made a significant improvement in her physical symptoms and wellbeing, but also left her feeling stronger with greater insight and understanding of herself. From this point, Rebecca knew the path she wanted to take and was inspired to work as an acupuncturist to help others. Rebecca is deeply moved by being able to support people through the different cycles life can bring. She has helped people from all different backgrounds and walks of life in her clinic. Her passion for people and nature has also seen her work with many community groups, on organic farms and in workers co-operatives. She currently lives and works in Oxford.
