Clare trained for 4 years at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York qualifying in 2003. The Northern College of Acupuncture is one of the foremost educational and research institutions for Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in the UK. Clare trained as a Registered General Nurse, qualifying in 1992 and has worked in various fields including General Surgery, Ear Nose & Throat and Maxillo-Facial within the NHS. Clare is a fully registered member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC). The BAcC maintains common standards of ethics, discipline and practice to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the public at all times. Since qualifying for practice, Clare has undertaken research in the field of acupuncture and has been awarded the qualification of an MSc in Acupuncture by the University of Wales. She has also undergone postgraduate training in Gynaecology and Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine Support in Fertility and IVF, Acupuncture for Fertility and Pregnancy with Zita West, Spine Examination and treatment and Traditional Chinese Food Energetics. Over the past few years, Clare has undergone extensive training into Channel Theory which is extremely useful in the treatment of pain. Clare was recently selected by the British Acupuncture Council to go on a 2 week training course to Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Harbin, China. Here she extended her knowledge and learnt new skills including scalp acupuncture which is very good for neurological conditions. Have a look at her blog here . James Olverson qualified with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Therapy From Edge Hill University and a BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy from Manchester Metropolitan University.  Since qualifying as a Sports Therapist James has worked in professional football before returning to University to study as a Physiotherapist. Following the completion of his Physiotherapy degree he worked to complete his core rotations within the NHS whilst continuing his work in football on a part time basis. James then progressed to a senior role within the outpatient setting of a private hospital, where he worked part time specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, treating a range of different injuries/conditions including chronic, sporting and post surgical. Alongside this role he was able to continue his work in elite football, whilst taking on a new position within the Lawn Tennis Association providing physiotherapy cover at professional tennis events around the country.  James treats a range of musculoskeletal conditions drawing from his background in healthcare and also the sporting environment.  He continues to develop his skills attending various professional courses, and is currently studying for his Masters Degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine.  James is available for physiotherapy appointments on various days.
