Drawing on over 2,000 years of Far Eastern medical practice and philosophy, we look after every aspect of your wellbeing by providing therapies to treat illness, classes to maintain health, and workshops for wellbeing.

Acupressure

Acupressure is when pressure is applied to acupuncture points without the use of needles. You may be shown how to use acupressure yourself, for example to encourage the natural onset of labour after an induction treatment.

A glass cup is suctioned onto your skin to encourage blood flow to the area. Cupping helps old injuries to heal, relaxes muscles and stimulates the immune system.

Moxibustion

A smouldering herb is used to warm the skin. This technique does not burn the skin and most patients find it enjoyable. Moxibustion will be included in your treatment plan if it is appropriate for your particular symptoms.

Biography:

Sarah Attwell-Griffiths (Lic Ac, BSc (Hons) Acu, MBAcC) uses traditional acupuncture to help people achieve better physical health and mental-emotional wellbeing. In addition to her clinical practice, Sarah has published ground-breaking research into acupuncture treatment for self-injury users.

Sarah studied at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading and holds a First Class BSc (Hons) degree in traditional acupuncture awarded by Kingston University. She is also a full member of the British Acupuncture Council. This means that she adheres to strict safety standards and professional conduct guidelines, and is recognised by health insurance providers.

As a member of the British Acupuncture Council, Sarah is on a voluntary register that has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. The Accredited Voluntary Register (AVR) scheme was set up by the Government to improve standards and safety for the benefit of the public. Accreditation demonstrates Sarah's commitment to high professional standards, to enhancing safety and delivering a better service.
