Malou Acupuncture Counselling is a friendly, welcoming acupuncture practice in Dublin providing treatments for a variety of health conditions and promoting patient's general wellbeing. It is run by Malou Wang, a practitioner with over 20 years experience in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Dublin and Shanghai. Having worked and trained in Chinese and Irish hospitals, Malou ensures a balance between Eastern and Western medicine in her practice. Through almost 2 decades of acupuncture practice, I have always been curious about psyche (Mind) and somatic (Body) interconnection. After 4 years of studying at Dublin Business School, I have been awarded a bachelor degree BA in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have been practising acupuncture for 15 years and specialise in Acupuncture for Fertility and Gynaecology. I also have diplomas in Nutrition and Stress Management which I find extremely useful in the area of Fertility. I am also afiliated to Zita West who has written many books on Fertility issues. I also use acupuncture for Morning Sickness, Symphysis Pubis pain, Induction and many other problems associated with pegnancy. I also do a lot of Pre-birth Acupuncture which helps to promote natural labour. These treatments can help prepare a womans body for birth in particular preparing the cervix and pelvis for labour. This can result in an easier and more efficient labour. Of course I use acupuncture for other problems also such as Sciatica, Arthritis, Sinusitis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome,Insomnia, Stress and many more. What is acupuncture? Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used systems of healing in the world. Originating in China some 3,500 years ago, only in the last three decades has it become popular in the United States Traditional Chinese medicine holds that there are as many as 2,000 acupuncture points on the human body, which are connected by 20 pathways (12 main, 8 secondary) called meridians. These meridians conduct energy, or qi (pronounced "chi"), between the surface of the body and its internal organs. Each point has a different effect on the qi that passes through it. Qi is believed to help regulate balance in the body. It is influenced by the opposing forces of yin and yang, representing positive and negative energy and forces in the universe and the human body.
