Shenacu, located 5 minutes from Lambs Cross in Sandyford, is focused on providing the highest quality one-to-one care in a relaxing environment.
Gillian has a special interest in the treatment of paeditarics, fertility (both natural and assisted), emotional issues, pregnancy and postnatal recovery. Gillian continually updates her skills by regularly undergoing further professional courses. Gillian is also a founding member of the Zita West Affiliated network.
Gillian's interest in Chinese Medicine and Philosophy began in the late 90s through the practice of Qi gong and Tai chi. In 2004 she commenced her training in traditional Chinese Medicine with the Acupuncture foundation of Ireland. Here she studied under Professor Jin Huide and Dr Wu Jidong, from the University of Traditional Chinese medicine, Nanjing.
In 2007, Gillian travelled to China to complete further training in Acupuncture at the Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. While she was in China she also worked in the first affiliated hospital in Nanjing under the guidance of the eminant Dr Qiu Xian Ling, chief physician of the acupuncture and moxabustion department. On returning to Ireland she continued her post graduate training completing a diploma in Tui Na (Chinese medical massage) with Dr Meng of Lincoln University.
With keen interest in Classical Chinese Medicine, she attends annual post graduate training with the Academy of Classical Chinese Medicine (ACCM) under the guidance of the distinguished Daoist Master Jeffrey Yuen.
She is a member of the AFPA and served as secretary of the Board from 2008-09. In her role as secretary she sat at the Acupuncture steering group which was formed after facilitation days held by the Dept and Health with a view to achieving statutory regulation of acupuncture in Ireland.
