I am a trained acupuncturist in Acupuncture Academy in Aarhus, which is one of the theoretical best-funded schools. House- wives have the same basis as that used in medical treatment at hospitals in China today. What you learn is how to bring the body's own self-healing energies of time and how, by means of symptoms, pulse and tongue diagnosis finds out which items to be used in acupuncture treatment. I completed the training in 2007 and the first year after house- wives treated most of my friends and acquaintances. In 2008 I went into the time in my work as an occupational therapist, and had arranged my clinic, which has direct access from the pedestrian zone in Ebeltoft. Working with acupuncture is an ancient dream dating back to the 70s, when I heard about acupuncture first time. I studied medicine a few years and tried during the study to find out how to get an education as an acupuncturist. However, I chose at that time instead to take a degree in occupational therapy. As an occupational therapist, I have worked partly with aids and partly within the psychiatric field. Through my work, I have seen how physical disease is closely related to mental wellbeing and vice versa. I have experienced how we in our normal treatment often unsuccessfully trying to find out what is cause and what is effect and must be content with treating the symptoms. I went to an acupuncturist in the late 90s because of headaches and difficulty sleeping in a stressful period. It had a good effect on my physical and mental well-being. The dream of becoming an acupuncturist who had been in the back of our minds all the time, came to life again through even getting treatment, and I just had to go. I am very glad to have followed my old dream and learned the exciting crafts that acupuncture is. I love to spend time to find the right points in each treatment and emphasize that my customers need to have a good experience when they come to treatment in the clinic.
