Ms Georgie Smith

Biography:
Acupuncturist. She is the owner of The Fertility and Pregnancy Acupuncture Clinic. I am a nurse, midwife and acupuncturist with extensive experience in medical fields of fertility and pregnancy. This has provided me with a unique understanding of the journey toward parenthood, from the tiny beginnings, throughout the ups and downs of pregnancy, and ultimately towards the miracle of birth. You can have the upmost trust in my ability to discuss, address and treat your needs, whatever the stage of your journey. I initially trained and worked as a nurse, gaining varied and diverse understanding and practical experience of the medical world. I then extended and refined my skills by studying midwifery in 2002 and have now been a practicing midwife in busy hospitals for over a decade. Because of my love and passion for this area I undertook a four year Bachelor of Health Science majoring in Acupuncture at the Endeavour College of Natural Medicine. Since becoming an acupuncturist in 2010, I have specialised in fertility and pregnancy treatment. I have also ventured into the world of IVF and possess an excellent understanding of these treatments. I have ensured that my knowledge and skills remain at the cutting edge of research and practice by continuing to study and have completed my Masters in Reproductive Medicine in 2013. She had her own baby in early March 2016 and have returned to work for short shifts so I can enjoy my daughter whilst also help others have their own babies. I am currently available for appointments on Wednesdays (10am-1pm) and Fridays (10am-1pm) at the MAMA Centre in East Brisbane and on Thursdays (3pm-8pm) and Saturdays (8am-midday) at my own clinic in Spring Hill. Qualifications: Bachelor of Nursing Science (1999), Post-Graduate Diploma of Midwifery (2003), Diploma of Acupuncture (2009), Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture) (2010) and Masters of Reproductive Medicine (2013).

Ms Michelle Blum

Biography:
Acupuncturist and Naturopath. She is a registered Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine Practitioner as well as a Naturopath, Herbalist and Clinical Nutritionist. I originally became interested in complementary health care after suffering from allergies and stubborn skin conditions from a child, which seemed to increase in severity in adulthood. After undergoing a successful course of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine treatments for my health complaints I grew curious as to how this model worked which led me to the study and practice of it. In 2002 I completed a Bachelor of Applied Science majoring in Acupuncture and soon after began working in a busy Sunshine Coast practice specialising in natural and assisted fertility, pregnancy and general women’s health. Over the years I have also worked in some of Brisbane busiest acupuncture clinics as their Women’s Health Specialist. Qualifications: Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture), Advanced Diploma Naturopathy, Advanced Diploma Nutrition and Advanced Diploma Herbal Medicine
