I was recommended to Dr Islam by a friend and the quick response very impressive. I had my gastric sleeve in May 2022. Dr Islam is really very professional and friendly. He spent time discussing everything to relieve any stress. From the first time I contacted the clinic, I was put in touch with Mayar, my patient manager. She organised all transport from the airport to the hospital, from the hospital to the hotel and from the hotel back to the airport. The care I received was excellent and value for money! Walid the driver who picked me was great, offered to carry all my luggage and he stayed with me till he made sure I got my room in the hospital which was very neat and classy and I was placed into a lovely room. The operation was without complications, and no pain. The nursing staff are wonderful. The care was far superior to the NHS!

Great experience with Siba Senapati and his team at the Alexandra, Cheadle. Everything was explained thoroughly in the initial consultation, all the pre-op appointments were arranged for the same day to avoid multiple trips, the surgery itself went well and I can’t fault the aftercare. I’m also really happy with my results so far, losing just under 3 stone in 3 months. All the staff were friendly. The hospital was clean, the only downside is the rooms are due to a refurbishment.

Gastric sleeve surgery, or a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, is a surgical procedure during which a part of the stomach is removed leaving the remaining part to function as a new smaller stomach. The stomach is an organ which functions as a temporary food reservoir and it also produces hormones, such as gastrin and ghrelin. Ghrelin is associated with the feeling of hunger. Therefore, the removal of a large portion of the pouch can favorably alter the hunger hormone production. After a gastric sleeve procedure a patient’s food intake is decreased and they feel full faster. It is a bariatric surgery, which helps patients to lose as much as 50 to 70 percent of their excess weight.

Sleeve Gastrectomy is weight loss procedure aimed at permanently removing 75% of the stomach to make it smaller. This means you will only be able to eat small meals. Your surgeon will explain the benefits and risks of having a sleeve gastrectomy, and will also discuss the alternatives to this operation. This is a keyhole operation that requires a general anaesthetic. You should expect to be in hospital for 1-2 days and the surgeon will discuss this with you. I contacted Renew Bariatrics in October of 2020. I was approved for Gastric Bypass shortly after the initial contact. My coordinator, Marie, was very thorough and sent me all the necessary documents to get started. I was then sent detailed instructions for my pre-op and post-op diets. I had my surgery on December 15th of 2020. The process was so easy, Renew took care of everything. I flew in the day before surgery, the driver picked us up from our hotel the next day and took us over the border. When we reached the hospital, I was given forms to fill out and was taken back for blood work, X-rays, and EKG tests. After that, I was taken to my room where the surgeon/nursing staff came in to check on me, ask me questions and insert my IV. All a breeze. The hardest part was waiting and not getting anxious. Dr Green came in and told me how the surgery would go, told me about my test results and then we were ready. About an hour or so later, I was in the operating room. I woke up feeling yucky but I just had major surgery, so of course. Went back to my room where I stayed for the next two days. Went to the Real Inn after that for the night and went home the next day. The whole process was a breeze and I’d honestly do it again in a heartbeat. Renew and Dr Green saved my life and I’ll be forever grateful.
