Rating from 7 Reviews I feel so much stronger in myself now and I'm very thankful for thatChrystle, Clane, Kildare, 28 Nov 16

I attended counselling with Mairead for a couple of months and I found it so helpful during a difficult time in my life. Mairead is objective and empathic so I felt completely at ease when speaking about my emotions with her. She offered fantastic advice, guidance and gave practical emotion management skills to work with at home when I needed them. I feel so much stronger in myself now and I'm very thankful for that. The clinic feels welcoming, it's a calming environment to feel comfortable in.

Rating from 2 Reviews Easy to talk to and an impressive way of approaching complex issuesMary, Ireland, 19 May 17

I attended Healing Minds for a number of months last year. I was going through a very dark time and felt isolated and alone. I was met in a very warm and welcoming way with no judgement. I found it very safe to share and explore due to Brendan's gentle and empathic approach. I would highly recommend his practice as it helped me through the darker stages of my life. I highly recommend Brendan and his way of working with vulnerable people. Fantastic, warm and friendly attitude and made me feel very relaxed. Easy to talk to and an impressive way of approaching complex issues.

Psychotherapy:Psychotherapy is a longer term and more in-depth process than supportive counselling. It requires both client and therapist to engage at a much deeper level, to a relational depth. Within the therapeutic alliance, the client can expect to confront and understand many underlying issues that can be a part of, or indeed the cause of their overarching issues and problems. Psychotherapy requires a courageous curiosity, and needs to be facilitated by a professional practitioner, who has received the correct training to properly facilitate the process. Remedy Clinic houses professionally trained psychotherapists that practice numerous psychotherapeutic orientations. There are a number of different psychotherapeutic orientations, that utilize different methods to facilitate their respective process of therapy. Due to this, some clients will find some forms of therapy more suitable for them. In order to make an informed decision please refer to the short brief on each discipline, and then follow the link to the therapist page to find your therapist, by orientation / disciplineOur Therapists Our practicing therapists are qualified and accredited by (or are pre-accredited members of) the prominent accrediting bodies, such as the IACP (Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), and the IAHIP (Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Therapy) among others. Please see each individual therapist’s profile for a more in-depth look at their practice, qualifications and the areas in which they specialise. We work in line with upcoming regulatory standards.

Talk Therapy Dublin

(01) 525 5335 Kimmage Road Lower, Harold's Cross, Dublin 6
Rating from 2 Reviews Very good and sound advice to my sonAislinn, Ireland, 04 Apr 17

My son attended Rav Jaewon for counselling in connection with a relationship breakup. Both my son and I found Ravind kind, gentle and very sympathetic while dispensing very good and sound advice to my son. He was patient and successfully built trust with my son who had not undertaken counselling before. He was available for follow up by phone on occasions where my son became upset. I would highly recommend Ravind to those looking for a gentle approach and good advice. I was looking for a male counsellor who I felt that my son could relate to.

Psychotherapist Consultation
What is psychotherapy? Psychotherapy is the treatment of psychological, emotional, or behavior disorders through the communications between the client and a therapist. The goal of therapy is to establish a central relationship of trust in which the client or patient can feel free to express personal thoughts and emotions and thus gain insight into his condition and generally share in the healing power of words. (Britannica) Will it work for me? Many people feel a great deal of benefit from psychotherapy, some even after comparatively few meetings. Like any other treatment or life experience, psychotherapy may not be suitable for everyone. Each individual has to make up their own mind about whether therapy is helpful for them. Clinical experience shows that if you are motivated and set yourself realistic goals, psychotherapy is likely to be of benefit. How long will it take? The length of treatment will be determined by what you are offered following assessment. How often are the sessions? Most psychotherapy is once weekly, although sometimes client’s circumstances won’t allow for this, so an alternative arrangement will be made. How long does each session last? Individual psychotherapy sessions normally last fifty minutes. How much does it cost? A one on one session costs E85.00. What benefit should I feel afterwards? Research has shown that psychotherapy is effective in reducing symptoms, improving relationships and self esteem. However, as each person is an individual it is difficult to generalize at the beginning as to which benefits a person may feel. The exploration and the journey is often as important as the goal. Does it usually work? A great deal of research has been done which shows C.B.T to be effective. However, it only works as a catalyst with the person undergoing treatment. This means that in order for therapy to be effective, the "work" is not done to you - but by you and with you.Can I stop if I feel its not working? It is always possible to leav
CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive therapy seeks to help the client overcome difficulties by identifying and changing there thinking errors, behaviour, and emotions. This involves helping patients develop skills to change beliefs, identifying thinking errors and changing behaviours. Treatment is based the collaboration between the client and the therapist. Once those thoughts have been challenged, your feelings are easier to change. I believe that most people can overcome any emotional disability by ‘Working harder’. So be prepared for some homework, as C.B.T does require you the client to record your progress and challenge your behaviour in between sessions. But it’s not just about working harder; I will help you to ‘work clever’. The techniques of C.B.T will allow you to see your world from a new angle and this often brings relief and a new found ability to change behaviour that up until now, you may have felt would never change.
