Ten Health and Fitness - Chiswick

Barley Mow Centre, Barley Mow Passage, London, W4 4PH
"Very friendly and helpful"Michelle, Acton, 01 Aug 14
"I had been in pain for 4 days and did not know what the problem was except that I believe I injured my neck lifting back weights. The people at reception were very friendly and helpful. Emma, the physio I was referred to, used some techniques to help me and gave me a detailed analysis about my posture, my flat upper spine, and informed me that I scored about 7 out of 9 for hypermobility, the implications, what to look out for and how to manage it. I came away well-informed and armed with information from the physio, Emma, about what type of injury it was, what I could and couldn't do for exercise, and range of movement. I wish I could afford another session, however it's very expensive unless you have private insurance."

Chiswick and Hammersmith Chiropractic Clinic

0203 322 9884 ext: 638423 Pleydell Avenue, Hammersmith, London, W6 0XX
Chiropractors specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions which are due to mechanical dysfunction of the joints, especially those of the spine, and their effects on the nervous system. Chiropractors use their hands to adjust the joints of your spine and other areas of the body where signs of restrictions in movement are found. This improves mobility and relieves pain. Poor, inadequate or incorrect function of the spine can cause irritation of the nerves that control your posture and movement. By adjusting joints, chiropractors stimulate the joint movement receptors affecting the way your nervous system works. On first meeting you, the chiropractor will take a detailed history of your health, your reasons for seeking a consultation and a full examination will then be undertaken. Sometimes treatment is immediate, at other times it may be necessary to seek further information from your GP or to arrange x-rays, blood or urine tests. Your individual needs and your role in the treatment plan will be discussed and considered with you at all times. Chiropractic care mainly involves treatment by manipulation to the joints of the spine or other areas of the body. Most often this involves a short impulse to the joint, resulting in an audible ‘crack’ as the joint is released, bringing relief of symptoms. The crack is simply the sound of bubbles of gas popping in the fluid of the joint as the pressure is released. This is known as an ‘adjustment.’ Generally, chiroprac
