After qualifiying, she went into private practice in the UK, working in a range of fields including orthopaedics, sports injury rehabilitation, paediatrics, post-operative surgical and eldrely care. She then specialised in Musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

Ms Shannon Sparg

Job Title:
 Physiotherapist
Biography:
Shannon qualified as a Physiotherapist at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa, in 2003. She then worked in South Africa, doing both musculo-skeletal out-patients and community-based care. She also worked with post-operative rehabilitation.
She has been working in London since 2006, both on the NHS and in private practices. She joined the PhysioEdge team on a part-time basis in 2008, and has continued to work intermittently in our Chiswick branch since then.
Shannon loves people and especially working with the "musculo-skeletally" challenging patient. She has a special interest in Sports Injuries, especially running problems, as well as enjoying treating more common postural and work-related problems. She believes in predominantly hands-on treatment techniques, but especially using rehabilitation exercises to fully equip her patients to help themselves.

Ms Gillian Coates

Job Title:
 Physiotherapist
Biography:
Gillian Coates is a Chartered Physiotherapist who trained in Cape Town, South Africa and graduated in 2000 with a BSc in Physiotherapy.
From this point, she went straight into private practice, working in a range of fields, including sports rehabilitation, orthopaedics, paediatrics, respiratory, post-operative surgical and elderly care, before opening her own musculoskeletal/sports injuries practice.
In early 2003, Gill moved to the UK where she has worked in various fields, both in private practice and on the NHS as a Senior 1 physiotherapist at St Thomas Hospital.
She has been based in Chiswick/Hammersmith since December 2004, and set up the PhysioEdge Chiswick clinic in June 2006. In October 2009, PhysioEdge expanded their scope of service, and opened a second branch in Wandsworth. Gill also works with patients in the film, media and dance industries, keeping them able to perform on-screen and helping them remain injury-free.
In February 2008, Gill completed the Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine. She is also Pilates trained through the Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute (APPI).
