About CityPhysio

This spacious modern clinic is the largest provider of private physiotherapy in Ireland. The clinic is located in Lucan Village near Dublin in Ireland. Only chartered physiotherapists are employed to treat patients at the clinic. Physiotherapy services provided at the clinic include, corporate services onsite for large companies including musculoskeletal screening, health, posture correction and exercise advice and assessment of workplace ergonomics, treatments and advice for sportspersons and Pilates classes. A detailed assessment is done at first and a treatment plan inclusive of the number of sessions required is drawn up.

Mr John Shenton

Biography:
John Shenton qualified from Leeds University in 1989 and has extensive experience in musculoskeletal medicine. After working in some prestigious London teaching hospitals he headed up the department at the ministry of defence medical centre. Before moving to Ireland in 1998, he worked as a clinical specialist for a number of large private clinics in central London and worked in a consultative capacity for several professional soccer and rugby clubs.
He has an advance certificate in Sports Medicine from Manchester University and an M.Sc. in Manipulative Therapy from Coventry University. He specialises in the treatment and management of complex knee and shoulder conditions.
John has been a partner in Cityphysio since 1998.

Ms Margaret Hanlon

Biography:
Margaret Hanlon is the founding partner of CityPhysio. She qualified from Trinity College Dublin with a BSc. (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 1991. She then worked in the U.S.A. and subsequently attended University College London, gaining a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy, specialising in Exercise and Manipulative Therapy, in 1994. She has worked solely in the area of musculo-skeletal physiotherapy, both in hospitals and in private practice.
Margaret is presently the vice president of the Irish Society of Chartered Pysiotherapists. She lectures on the MSc in physiotherapy at University College Dublin and teaches various post-graduate education courses for physiotherapists working in the area of musculo-skeletal medicine.
Margaret has been involved in an ISCP (Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists) working research party into the assessment and treatment of whiplash-associated disorders in Ireland, and has presented a paper on this topic at the World Congress of Physiotherapy in Barcelona in 2003.

Una graduated with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy Degree from University College Dublin in 2001.
Una gained valuable experience when working in St Joseph’s Hospital, Raheny for over four years.  She moved to New York and spent six years working in private practice.  Her vast clinical experience has equipped her with a wide range of skills to successfully assess, diagnose, treat and progress an abundance of conditions.
Her postgraduate professional development has included numerous courses with primary focus on musculoskeletal disorders, manual therapy and most recently the Kinesio taping technique.
