Physiotherapy helps you restore your body back to its normal condition following an accident, illness or injury. It focuses primarily on improving the condition and subsequent function of the muscles, joints and limbs, but also provides a multi-faceted approach to improving standards of general health.

Physiotherapy focuses on providing relief from aches as a result of work or muscular conditions. It works by using a number of different methods to gradually increase the strength of the muscles, bones and connective tissues in the body; this helps to increase the range of movement and flexibility around the joints.
Physiotherapy aids:

  • Traumatic injuries
  • Sports injuries
  • Arthritis and joint pain
  • Heart and lung disease
  • Back and neck pain
  • Sciatica
  • Strokes
  • Muscular dystrophy

Mr Jonathan Wills

Specialisations:
 Osteopathy
Languages:
 English
Biography:

Jonathan Wills. M.Ost ND DO is one of the few osteopaths in Ireland with a Masters in Osteopathic Medicine. He studied at the world renowned British College of Osteopathic Medicine which takes a naturopathic, whole-body approach to osteopathy.

In this course he also studied visceral osteopathy which aims to treat the viscera/organs of the body via an osteopathic approach. This is an area of medicine which is gaining more and more popularity as people realise that the body has to work as a whole unit and that all the body’s systems are interconnected.

Jonathan’s career in health started in his training as  a gym instructor, then as a personal trainer, then as a sports therapist prior to studying Osteopathic Medicine. He has taught women’s fitness classes around dublin and has been recruited several times to teach  the Joseph System  of Foot Mobilisation to podiatrist and chiropodists directly working with Brian Joseph.

Jonathan uses a combination of soft-tissue techniques, myofascial work, joint manipulations and mobilisations, visceral techniques and many more to get your body functioning normally again.

See Jonathans testimonials for more information on the effectiveness of his treatment.

Mr Kevin Callan

Specialisations:
 Acupuncture, Non-Surgical Facial Aesthetics
Languages:
 English
Biography:

Here is a little about me and what brought me to be working in this field of health care. I have always had a keen interest in holistic medicine. Both my parents used various types of alternative medicine to manage the families health and so I had first hand experience of the exciting possibilities offered by holistic and preventative medicine. Upon finishing secondary school I was accepted on to the UK’s first Degree program in Complementary Medicine. This was a Bachelor of Science degree in the Health Sciences at the University of Central Lancashire. The course provided me with a great foundation in all the Health Sciences e.g. Physiology, Biochemistry, Psychology, Counselling, Social sciences and Research techniques.

During my studies I had a course of Acupuncture treatment for a health complaint and was hugely impressed by its effectiveness. I was primarily impressed by the sophistication of its diagnostic technique and its focus on using these insights to educate and empower the client to maximise their own health.

After carrying out some research, I settled on the College of Naturopathic Medicine as my acupuncture school of choice. Not only did this school have an established reputation in the provision of excellent Traditional Chinese medicine training, but also provided training in the discipline of Naturopathic Medicine. I found this training to be a perfect compliment to my science degree.

The combination of my training thus far, has given me a competent understanding of western medical diagnosis and treatment protocols. I believe this helps me to adapt the established approach of Acupuncture and Naturopathy to compliment western medical management of many conditions.

As a natural medicine practitioner I feel my role is to give space and time for my clients to express any concerns that they might have and to truly relax. I am passionate that my clients should leave their consultation with a better understanding of what they can do to manage their condition and maximise their well being. Educating and empowering clients is for me, the cornerstone of preventative and holistic medicine.

I also specialise in acupuncture facial rejuvenation. Fine lines may be entirely eliminated and deeper wrinkles diminished. Bags under the eyes can be reduced, jowls firmed, puffiness eliminated, droopy eyelids lifted and double chins minimized. Other likely results include: moisturizing of the skin with increased local circulation of blood and lymph to the face; increased collagen production, muscle tone, and dermal contraction; tightening of the pores; brightening of the eyes; improving of hormonal balance to help acne; reduction of stress evident in the face.

I hope to see you soon and wish you every health and happiness.

Ms Una Cashin

Biography:

Una Cashin – Pregnancy Massage Therapist, Reflexologist, Aromatherapist.

Specialising in pregnancy, I combine the skills of massage, reflexology and aromatherapy in my treatments. This means you will get a lovely relaxing and effective massage using the pressure that suits you. In addition if you chose to have aromatherapy as part of your treatments, I will blend specific oils to work with what your mind and body needs.

I have trained with several schools of reflexology and use a South African method which combines knowledge of meridian theory and reflexology to get the best results. I have been working with reflexology since 2001.

Reaching a high standard of expertise, I was privelaged to have worked on both the board of the Irish Reflexologists’ Institute and Reflexology in Europe Network. With my adult education teaching certificate I plan to teach reflexology in the future.

Reflexology sparked my interest in massage and I have been studying different massage methods including Indian Head massage, Thai massage, Deep tissue/ remedial massage, Myofascial release techniques.  But my love is really aromatherapy I am constantly astounded by the efficacy of the essential and base oils for numerous conditions.  What can I say it keeps me healthy and looking young and fabulous.
