Ergonomic Assessments and Advice Orthotics Orthotics Some foot, knee and back problems can be greatly helped with the appropriate fitting of an insole and adaptation of footwear. An orthotic is a device which repositions the foot structures and so reduces the stress and associated symptoms. A detailed lower limb assessment is necessary in order to identify the main problem and this information leads to the fitting of an orthotic “tailor” made for the patients foot. Mary believes in the fitting of a temporary cheap insole in order to ascertain its effect on the problem before embarking on any further treatment. Prices of orthotics can vary. Temporary insoles can be as little as €10!
