Contraception: Oral Contraception This is available within a standard consultation with our private GPs which costs £100.00 Medication is dispensed. Prices vary. If we do not dispense the medication then a private prescription is issued for the contraception. Private Prescriptions cost £20.00. Emergency Contraception “Morning after Pill” This is available within a standard consultation with our private GPs which costs £100.The medication is dispensed and costs £15.   Emergency Contraception “IUCD/COIL Fit” This is available within a standard consultation with our private GPs which costs £100. Our gynaecologists also provide this service. The consultation costs £225. The coil costs £23. Contraceptive Injection - Depo Provera Depo Provera is an injection of hormones that provides a longer-acting alternative to the pill. It works by slowly releasing the hormone progestogen into the body to stop ovulation, and it lasts for 12 weeks. You would require at least an express 15-minute GP appointment which costs £60 or a standard GP appointment which costs £100. The injection costs £17. Alternatively you may wish to have this done by a consultant gynaecologist. A consultation is £225 plus the cost of the injection. IUCD/COIL Our GPs and gynaecologists will fit either the LARC (copper coil) or Mirena (contains the hormone progestogen) coil.  An IUCD can stay in place for five years – sometimes for 10. GP consultation for IUCD fit or removal: cost is £100. Consultant gynaecologist consultation for fit or removal costs £225. • IUCD – Mirena cost is £140• LARC - copper costs £23 Please note: If you have had problems having an IUCD removed previously or been told that the threads cannot be seen, we would advise you to see our consultant gynaecologist. Removal of IUCD / coil by a gynaecologist costs £270. If an ultrasound scan is required to locate the IUCD the cost is £120.
