The first treatment will include a complete case history of the patient. With many questions regarding the health of the patient and their medical history. This is to ensure that osteopathic treatment is appropriate and that the techniques used are the best for the patient. After this is done a thorough examination is made. At this point the patient is usually asked to undress to their underwear. This is to give the osteopath more information on posture, skin and muscle health and how the body functions. If the patient is uncomfortable with this they are more than welcome to wear shorts and a t-shirt. Patients are also welcome to bring a chaperone. (If under 18 patients need a chaperone anyway).Once the examination is done the osteopath will explain their diagnosis and what they think should be done to treat the problem.
