After graduating from Liverpool University in 1992 and I went into general dental practice after completing vocational training. After working as a general dentist for 18 months I started a 2 year postgraduate Masters degree in Periodontology at Liverpool University. This was completed in 1997 and I subsequently became a part time lecturer in the Periodontal Department. In 2000 after passing the Membership in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons (England) I was entered onto the General Dental Council’s specialist register in Periodontics. I have been accepting referrals for advanced periodontal care and dental implantology since 1996. I have taught at both Liverpool University and Birmingham University Dental Schools. I have given lectures both nationally and internationally on periodontics and the surgical aspects implantology and bone/soft tissue augmentation. In addition I am a Simplant trainer and provide clinical coaching for different implant systems. Since 1995 I have placed over 2500 dental implants with a success rate of 98 % over these 15 years.

I am also an active member of the British Society of Periodontology, the American Academy of Periodontology and the Association of Dental Implantology.

After graduating from Edinburgh I spent four years working in general practice before re-locating to Canada. In Canada, I spent three years in practice working with fully accredited members of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. I gained my Canadian dental licence in 1997 before moving to Southern California in 1998 to the prestigious Loma Linda University where I began my specialist training in Implant dentistry and Prosthodontics. In 1999 I accepted a position on the Graduate Masters in prosthodontics program at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, internationally regarded as the home of dentistry. I attained my specialist certificate in Prosthodontics in 2002 and my Masters Degree in 2004. I then accepted a faculty position at the University of Alberta Dental School in Edmonton Canada where I taught undergraduate dental students in fixed, removable and implant prosthodontics.

In 2005 I joined Dr Ubhi at the Birmingham Periodontal & Implant Centre re-starting a professional relationship dating back to 1992. I am also part of the Clinical Team for Cendres & Metaux (C+M Switzerland), a Clinical coach for Astra Tech and have lectured nationally and internationally as well as having several publications both national and international. My goal has and always will be to provide the highest standard of care possible to the patients I treat.
