My smoking cessation programme involves three visits to see. Your first session is consultation and preparation. I will explain how the programme works and start you on your preparations to quit smoking. This will involve cutting down your intake and making other changes to your smoking pattern. The following session is your quit day. You will have your last cigarette before you see me and then you will experience your one on one hypnotherapy session. Once that is complete you will leave with a copy of the hypnosis session on C.D which you will listen to once a day for about a week to ten days. Your follow up appointment will then be scheduled. The best way to describe the importance of the repeated listening to the recording is to compare it to an anti-biotic. You do not expect the anti-biotic to make you better when you take the first dose. You take it for the prescribed period with your health returning at the end of the medication. The C.D works in the same manner. Listen to it for the prescribed period of time to maximise your chances of long term smoke freedom. The programme includes a one year back up programme. Quite simply if you have any problems over the following 12 month period you are welcome to come back and see me at no extra charge.
