This fertility and assisted conception unit is a state of the art centre within the Countess of Chester hospital in Chester in Cheshire. The hospital forms part of the NHS foundation trust. The modern facility is equipped with the latest technology for accurate testing and treatments of couples who seek help for infertility. The Wales Fertility Institute at the University Hospital of Wales is part of a two site South and West Wales Fertility Service with the second site being based at Neath Port Talbot Hospital.  The specialised multi disciplinary team consists of doctors, nurses, embryologists, counsellors and administrative staff. Treatments provided at the clinic are IUI, donor IUI, IVF and ICSI, ovulation induction, egg retrieval, fertilization and embryo development, egg and embryo freezing and blastocyst transfers. An egg donation scheme is available at the clinic.   The Centre has the facility to offer PGD services and is currently in discussion with the commissxioners regarding the commencement of this service to NHS patients in Wales.
