In 1980, he completed his specialization exam in gynecology and obstetrics at the Gynecological Clinic in Ljubljana. PhD degrees in the field of andrology (male fertility problems) won in 1983 at Sveucilištu in Zagreb (Croatia). In 1990 he was at the Medical Faculty elected assistant professor of gynecology and obstetrics, in 1993 the title of associate professor, and in 2003 the title of full professor. Dr. Kovacic is the author of numerous scientific articles in international and national publications and a member of several professional associations. Member of the Committee of National Representatives to the European Society for Human reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).
