It is never easy, but it went better than I expected and I thought I'd share it. If you want the best, then these guys are probably the real professionals. Judging by what we saw before anyway. You know by the questions you're asked. The doctor - David - heard us, got to the real problem. He wasted no time, got us started, only did necessary tests. ICSI was used this time. More privacy and better facilities - the clinic is wow in Clonskeagh. The doctors and nurses saw the human side. Doctor D made sure he looked after us right the way through. The counsellor was a surprise support. There are videos on the sims.ie site on how to take the medication and we did use them. Sims, for us, made a long road easier. Glad we got the recommendation. Now here's hoping. Will let you know.

  • Within 3 minutes of talking to the doctor on my first visit, he was talking about egg donors - I thought this was a bit premature given I hadn't even been tested or examined. Most definitely. It was a most excellent consultation that I had with Dr. Mary McCaffrey and the nurse on duty and it was worth every penny.
Would you recommend the clinic?
I most definitely would recommend the clinic as the consultant, nurse and admin staff were all very friendly and understanding and they made me feel very much at ease and comfortable whilst preparing for and during examinations etc.

  • The treatment went well, the nurses were very friendly and helpful while going through the treatment.Only met with the consultant once through out so feel the clinic is ran by the nurses.   • You don't have to pay a penny until after the transfer, which I couldn't get over and total cost for Own Egg cycle, with ICSI, Blast transfer and EU bloods is €1900. Just a couple of tips for any of your patients going over, tell the ladies to bring a long nightdress to change into for egg collection, if they forget clinic will give them a 'nice' blue gown, so its just easier to have your own.Patient , Ireland , 28 Sep 10
  • Also you need to bring your passports to clinic so that they can see them to verify you are who you say you are, and they note your passport number, but if you forget the first day, its no problem, you just bring them the next day. The Rotunda Hospital

Parnell Square, Dublin Review by Ruth - Were you pleased with the treatment? For chidbirth, was not impressed. I was unfortunately 1 of 1000 people born with dislocated hips and my hip seized up while I was in labour, the hospital had not taken any account of my medical history, which included 3 brain anyuerisms on my mother's side. My mid-wife was changed an hour before my son wsa born, the second woman was more akin to an aerobics instructor than a mid-wife, I felt harrassed, they have no written record of their mistakes or the out of mormal events that occured during labour, the labour began with a 4-5mm dilation and after 8 hours had become fully dilated on one side and completely undilated on the otherside. It was a vacum assisted delivery and due to a tear I was seperated from my son for stiches, and was left completely alone for hlf an hour in a corridor with no way to contact ANYONE. They claim that this was acceptable. It is not. The spinal tap I was given interfered with my ability to breastfeed. The nature of my own rare physical interefernce meant that I was unable to care for my self properly for some time afterwards and I was subsequently bullied by my family who were supposed to be helping me, felt under excessive pressure by the HSE and the social welfare office to complete beurocratic and to read and study supposedly neccessary information, to something that every single mammal on the planet does by instinct and more than anything else, their over-whelming fear that with a piece of paper a mother is not going to know what to do with her baby was an over-bearing and destructive weight that was self-effacing simply because your mothering brain is not orientated for mindless paperwork. I would say had I not been in an irregular situation the rotunda would have been ok, never chose second best.
