Keratosis Pilaris is caused by excess keratin, a naturally occurring protein in the body, that traps hair follicles causing the formation of hard plugs. This shows itself as tiny flesh or red colored rough bumps occasionally itchy, gives an appearance of goose bumps or chicken skin. It is not a medical threat but cosmetically unsightly.
