Acne Treatment
Milia Removal
Thread, Broken or Spider Veins appear when the tiny capillary blood vessels that feed the skin are expanded into the skin surface producing blotchy red patches. The underlying cause is weakness of the capillary walls caused by heat & cold, spicy food, alcohol and smoking. In the case of leg veins, prolonged standing and extreme temperature. Short Wave Diathermy for the removal of facial veins, Milia (white pearly lumps) and Skin Tags. This is a simple method of treating common skin complaints such as fine facial thread veins or skin tags by cautery (heat) injection. By inserting a small needle into the blemish its contents are dispersed and the vessel or skin tag is destroyed by the heat.

Mole Removal
From €100 Enquire
Moles are very common. They may be flat or elevated. Sometimes they grow hairs. The most important feature however is pigmentation – a brown discolouration of the overlying skin. When should you be suspicious of a mole?Recent appearance of pigmentationPigmentation that becomes darkerItching or irritationBleedingGrowth in size especially a growth spurtA mole which was once flat becoming raised. If you are concerned about the above or any other changes you should consult with Ailesbury. Histology done at St. Vincents University Hospital.  The majority of skin lesions can be treated in a relatively simple manner. This entails surgical excision under local anaesthesia. Therefore the assessment and excision can frequently be performed at the initial consultation. If a skin cancer is suspected a diagnostic biopsy may have to be performed at the initial consultation. The treatment is completed as soon as the report is available. If the lesion has a completely benign appearance there is no need to request laboratory analysis. Therefore apart from skin cancers the treatment can frequently be completed on a single visit.
Acne Treatment
From €100 Enquire
Treatments at Ailesbury Clinic fall into three main categories: 1) Topical treament is adequate for mild acne. This works by exfoliating the skin and de-plugging the folicles. These treatments include: Agera Salicylic Wash which contains Salicylic acid and special hydrating agents, Agera Acne Shield which contains 2% Salicylic acid, 12% ascorbic acid and prostaglandin inhibitors to counteract the infection and inflamation associated with acne, Agera Peptide Antibac which contains and microbial enzyme to counteract infection, Topical Antibiotics e.g Clindamycin and Arethromycin to kill bacteria in mild to moderately severe acne, RetinA Cream to reduce the number of comedomes - acne lesions. 2) Oral treatment with antibiotics, retinoids or hormones is prescribed for moderate or severe acne: Antibitoics i.e. Minocin, Doxycycline are used by the Clinic sometimes used during the infective phase of an outbreak, Anti-androgen i.e Dianette is used in females resistant to antibiotics, with moderate to severe acne, Roaccutane to reduce sebum production, inhibits bacteria and is anti-inflammatory and is used if the condition is severe or unresponsive to normal treatment. 3) Aurora Laser system, recently approved by the FDA for treatment of moderate acne vulgaries. This treatment is very safe. Recent advances in laser technologies mean this laser can now be used for acne in all skin types and in the treatment of acne scarring.
Acne Scars Treatment
€150  -  €750 Enquire
After an acne lesion has healed, it can leave a red or hyperpigmented mark on the skin. This is actually not a scar, but rather a post-inflammatory change. The redness or hyperpigmentation is seen as the skin goes through its healing and remodeling process, which takes approximately 6-12 months. If no more acne lesions develop in that area, the skin can heal normally. Any color change or skin defect still present after 1 year is considered to be a permanent defect or scar. Ailesbury uses microneedling, dermaaroller for mild to moderate acne scarring and C02 laser resurfacing for more established scars.

Wart Removal
€100  -  €350 Enquire
Warts are a result of the most common viral infection of the skin. Plantar warts grow on the plantar surface, or the sole, of the foot. They can be found anywhere in this area but tend to produce symptoms in areas of pressure and friction. Ailesbury uses liquid nitrogen, radiosurgery or CO2 laser in the treatment of  verrucaes. Warts can spread directly from person to person, but this isnt common. You are more likely to pick up the virus that causes warts in shared washing areas and showers like those you find in swimming pools or gyms. This is much more likely if you have small cuts on your feet.[
Skin Tag Removal
€100  -  €350 Enquire
Skin tags are common, acquired, benign skin growths that look like a small piece of soft, hanging skin. Skin tags are harmless growths. Some individuals may be more prone to tags (greater than 50-100 tags) either through increased weight, in part combined with heredity, or other unknown causes. Males and females are equally prone to developing skin tags. Obesity and being moderately overweight (even temporary increases in weight) dramatically increase the chances of having skin tags. Women of normal weight with larger breasts are also more prone to developing skin tags under their breasts. Some small tags spontaneously rub or fall off painlessly and the person may not even know they had a skin tag. Most tags do not fall off on their own and persist once formed. The medical name for skin tag is acrochordon.
