Sandy first attained a scientific background by obtaining a BSc in Molecular Biology followed by a Masters in Biomedical Sciences Research from the University of London. This was followed by her Dental Surgery qualification with Hons from Leeds University in 2003.
Over the next five years she gained experience in general practice as well as working at the York District hospital in the Oral and Maxillo-facial Surgery department. Sandy became a member of the Fellowship of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2005.
In 2008 she was appointed Registrar in Orthodontics at the Leeds Dental Institute where she gained a Masters Degree in Dental Science. In 2011 she also attained the Membership of Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh and entered the specialist register in Orthodontics. Her interests are adult orthodontics, good food and her young family.
