Dr Arsalan Shamsi

Biography:
Dr Shamsi qualified from the Royal London in 1994 and is Principal of Horizons Dental Centre & Genesis Dental Centre..  
He has been running the practice since October 1999 and has an interest in cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery. He and his team have a profound interest in continuing professional development. As a former lecturer in the restorative department at Manchester Dental School teaching final year students, he continues to instill this ethos of learning in his current practice. 
Dr Shamsi has also been involved with Vocational Training since 2001, teaching and mentoring new graduates in practice. In 2008, he was elevated to the status of Vocational Training Advisor in the West Midlands Deanery and is responsible for running one of the training schemes at Stafford Hospital.. 
Dr Shamsi sits on the Local Dental Committee panel and is also involved in examining. He is a former examiner for the Faculty’s  MJDF examination and currently examines for Overseas Registration examination in London and the Royal College of Surgeonss LDS examination. He is also a clinical mentor for GDPs who have allegations brought against them by the GDC. In 2006, he acquired a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Ethics and Law and since then has worked as a Clinical panelist for the GDC’s Dental Complaints Service. In November 2010 he was appointed on the panel for the GDCs Fitness to Practice Procedures.

Dr Zaar Abbasi

 Associate Dentist
Biography:
Qualified from the University of Sheffield in 2010 and completed his 12 month Dental foundation Training in Leicester following graduation. He has excellent patient rapport and communication skills and makes patients feel at ease. Dr.Abbasi  works half the week at Genesis (our branch practice) with a remainder at Horizons. He is married to Fatima and enjoys travelling with a special interest in IT.

Biography:
Fatima joined Horizons in September this year. She recently graduated from Sheffiled Dental school last year and completed her Dental Foundation Training in Leicester.  She especially enjoys restorative dentistry and enjoys the challenges working with kids! Her hobbies include travelling, art and cooking.
