Specialist in Endodontics.

Our Specialist Endodontist is Dr David Cohen who has worked full time in the field of endodontics since 1981 and now spends the majority of his time at the MaltHouse Practice, The Old Coach House and the Minto Dental Practice.

He was admitted to the Endodontic Specialist Register as soon as the register was inaugurated in 1998 and has written widely on endodontic subjects. In 1994 he was a Visiting Fellow to the Singapore Ministry of Health and has also lectured extensively in the UK, Europe and USA.

David has served as the President of the British Endodontic Society and Chairman and/or Executive Member of a number of local dental and endodontic associations.

Outside dentistry he loves spending time with his family, especially his five young grandchildren. He also enjoys learning Spanish & violin, photography, collecting whisky and vodka miniatures and flying his aeroplane.

Specialist in Periodontics.

Philip Greene qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1971 and, after a post as a House Officer went into General Practice. He was awarded the Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in 1980.

From 1972 Philip worked in both NHS and Private General practice and, since 1981, has been involved in specialist periodontal practice, becoming a full-time Specialist Practitioner in 1997. Philip has taught in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the Manchester Dental School and has presented his "Effective Periodontics" practical seminar programme for the Department of Postgraduate Dentistry several times. He was admitted to the Specialist List in Periodontics when it was first established in 1998.

Philip has written and spoken widely on periodontics and related subjects and his video film, "Initial Periodontal Therapy", was awarded the Diplome dHonneur at the 1991 International Dental Film and Video Festival in Paris. His paper "Non- Surgical Periodontal Therapy - Essential and Adjunctive Methods" was published in the British Dental Journal in July 1995 and he presented a paper on subgingival antibiotic gel therapy at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Periodontology in September 1995.

Philip was the founding Chairman of the Dental Practitioners Section of the British Society of Periodontology, and currently serves on the Education Committee of the BSP, as well as being it’s North West Regional Representative with special responsibility for liaison with VDPs and GDPs. He is a past Chair of the Dental Postgraduate Society of Manchester. He is also an International Member of the American Academy of Periodontology and was a founding member of the Expert Witness Institute.

Cosmetic and restorative dentistry, including crowns, bridges, dental reconstruction, fillings, veneers and TMJ.

Dr Bob McLelland qualified with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree at the University of Dundee in 1993 when he also received a Merit in Prosthetic Dentistry and a prize in Conservative Dentistry. He became a Member of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners in 2002. In 2006 he gained his Masters degree in Dental Sciences (Restorative) with Merit at University of Leeds supported by his Thesis “Comparative Analysis of Excursive Tooth Contacts In Average Value and Programmed Articulator Using Computerised Axiography”. In 2007 Bob completed the Dr Mark Piper course, a one year course in the USA on advanced jaw joint disorders and occlusion taught by one of the world’s leading jaw surgeons.

Following a position as a House Office at Dundee Dental Hospital in 1994 Bob subsequently joined the Royal Air Force and served from 1995 to 2000 as a Dental Officer. In 2000 he worked in the renowned Carisbrooke Dental Practice and Implant Centre in Leicester and from there moved to St Ann’s Dental Clinic in Manchester in 2003.

Bob is fully committed to both continuing his own professional personal development and providing postgraduate education for other Dentists. He is a member of multiple dental societies in America and the UK as well as Europe. As a well experienced and respected Lecturer Bob has lectured Nationally on cosmetic and restorative dentistry whilst contributing to the restorative, implant, aesthetic and tooth preparation post graduate courses at St Ann’s Dental Clinic. He is also a Clinical Opinion Leader with the UK’s leading dental company, giving advice on the clinical use of dental materials.
