"Phoned up about a cracked tooth that my NHS dentist told me would require root canal. Given good advice over the phone to tide me over until I could get an appointment - called on Thursday afternoon and seen on Monday. Very impressed with the treatment. The dentist took his time, was friendly and explained what he was doing at every step, even handing me a mirror so I could see the progress. I was in the chair for almost two hours for the first stage and I can honestly say it didn't hurt at all! The worst bit was the lock jaw from having my mouth open for that long, but that's to be expected. First stage done, I was given a temporary filling and have no qualms about the rest of the procedure. This really is an example of how you get what you pay for. Sure, £515 is a lot to pay for what is essentially an elaborate filling, but the whole experience was so much nicer than my previous encounters as an NHS patient. I recommended the practice to my girlfriend, who is due to have a wisdom tooth extracted next week.
The building was further up Shirley Avenue than I was expecting and I almost walked past it. When I did locate it, however, I found it clean, tidy and with friendly and approachable staff. The waiting room was nicely furnished and I was even offered a drink upon arrival."
