Thomas Booth qualified with BDS (Hons) at Manchester Dental School, being one of five Dentists to achieve an Honours degree in his graduation year. Tom is local to Cumbria and attended Lancaster Grammar School where his father and uncle are alumni. During his studies at Manchester he received several awards, the most notable of which was made by the Academy of Dental Materials in recognition of excellence in scholarship in the use of dental materials.
Since graduating Tom has gained a wide experience in general dentistry and has continued to add to his qualifications with a number of post graduate courses.
He has recently completed his Masters degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Manchester, his dissertation subject being the detection of oral cancer.
Thomas was also able to complete a 12 month certificate in Aesthetic Dentistry with Chris Orr, a founding member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Tom has placed over 800 dental implants using a variety of established systems including Nobel Biocare, Astra and Ankylos. He continues to focus on his continual professional development by studying for a Masters Degree in Implantology and his MFDS qualification.
He is passionate about all aspects of patient care and dentistry, and is especially interested in surgical dentistry. Tom believes that thorough treatment planning is vital to the success of any treatment. If you do not plan, you plan to fail.
Tom lives in Kendal with his wife Elise who is also a Dentist at the Grange Dental Care.
