I can see why people travel to see him from far

Facial Rejuvenation • Paid: £350

I don't tend to write reviews but felt I had to as I really do have to give credit where credit is due. In 2009 I suffered mild damage to my face for which I underwent reconstructive surgery using fat grafting in 2013 - the surgery was performed by a plastic surgeon.

The surgery went very badly and I was left with deformities that were extremely noticeable. I consulted with a number of eminent surgeons in the UK and abroad regarding a revision and all informed me that fat grafting (especially in the midface) was incredibly hard, if not impossible to correct....all agreed the result was horrendous but no one had a solution. Various attempts were made including a very invasive surgical procedure in 2014, different injections, non-surgical methods...I tried everything.

It wasnt until late last year (so almost 10 years with the problem) that a dentist friend suggested I consult with Dr Khanna. I had a video consultation and Dr Khanna suggested a method of treatment that he felt might reduce the problem (which included lumpy fat grafts and scar tissue). I was not very optimistic, however, the cost was low and so I went...I truly didn't expect the treatment to work - especially as I'd tried something similar many years ago with a very well known surgeon. It is not often I am left speechless - however, when the treatment worked (which it did almost immediately) I was lost for words. Dr Khanna had achieved, something numerous surgeons (and 10s of thousands of pounds, sadly) had been unable to achieve in almost a decade. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Hopefully, there are not many people who have the issue I did, however, if Dr Khanna was able to help me then I'd say without a doubt, that he would also be the very best option for more usual problems such as those caused by filler....we are extremely lucky to have Dr Khanna as an option in the UK and I can see why people travel to see him from far further away than I had to.

The therapist gentle way and personality rounded up the treatment

Brilliant hygienist

I went for an initial consultation with a view to getting an implant. Plush offices, friendly staff and seemed very professional.
Slightly suprised by the proposed treatment plan and have started some of the treatment already - Hygenist

Not particularly good value but very professional. Am looking for a second opinion as to the proposed treatment plan. Removing teeth is never pleasant but £250 each is a bit rich and £900 for root canal treatment. I will shop around for better value.
The Hygenist is brilliant and very professional. This side of the plan seems great.

I am amazed

5 50 Laser Skin Resurfacing • Paid: £125

Clearlift Laser Treatment

Im having clearlift at DrBK. I was talked into having a treatment yesterday with the new alma laser. It is called Clear Lift. A new and less ablative laser than their 360 laser. It did not hurt at all! She did half of my face first so I could see the results and wow, did I ever! I sound like an advertisement but I am amazed at how much one treatment smoothed out my laugh lines and jowls! I am 52 and jowling is my biggest concern and they are noticeably improved and my face feels tighter. I therefore have purchased a package for face and neck and they gave me a great deal. I will report back after I have had a couple more. The technician told me these results after just one treatment will not be lasting. She says it really takes around three to six sessions about two to three weeks apart to have lasting results. We shall see. I am skeptical always but these results I can see!

An implant is the gold standard where it comes to replacing missing teeth and they look so good that it is very hard to tell the difference between a natural tooth and an implant and crown. An implant is suitable if you have missing teeth and would like a long term solution. The treatment usually takes place over a few appointments. The first appointment would be the consultation, at this stage we will take the appropriate x-rays and CBCT Scans in order to carefully plan the placement of your implant. Some of our patients like to have sedation to help them relax during the implant procedure however this is a personal choice and the procedure can be completed without. If you do opt for sedation we will use this appointment to take your blood pressure to ensure that you are suitable. We will discuss with you at length all other alternative options and provide you with some information that you can take home if you wish.

Dentures

Dentures are used to replace missing teeth, they can replace many teeth at once and these are called full dentures or just one or a few teeth at a time which we call partial denture). A Restoration, more commonly known as a filling, is the replacement of decayed or damaged tooth structure. Many materials can be used for this, however we use a tooth colored material called composite, which is a strong resin material. A composite filling or restoration can last several years if looked after correctly. It is important to keep up with regular dental health examinations and have a thorough oral hygiene regime so that we are able to make sure that no further decay can form around the restoration.

The treatment usually takes place within a single appointment; the tooth structure will be prepared. This will involve removing any decayed or damaged part of the tooth. You will be given some local anesthetic to ensure that you are comfortable during the procedure. We will then prepare the tooth further with a special gel material and bonding agents. We will then discus with you which shade is most suitable. The composite is then built up in many layers and cured or set using a strong light. Once the tooth structure has been completed we will then polish and smooth the whole tooth. You will not notice where your tooth finishes and where the composite begins!

Root canal treatment

A root canal treatment is recommended as an alternative to removing the tooth. If a tooth has decay from poor oral hygiene the decay or bacteria has managed to get inside the nerve of the tooth. If left untreated this can worsen and become infected causing a tooth abscess. To try and save the tooth the decay and infection is removed and a filling is placed. If you have a tooth which can be saved we will always encourage this treatment prior to an option of an extraction. It is up to you whether you would like to try and save the tooth or have the tooth removed entirely.

After you have been assessed, we will then take an impression of your teeth to make your whitening trays. Once the trays have been made we will check the fit of the trays and instruct you on how to use the bleaching gel. A dental cone beam CT scanner uses x-rays and a computer to produce a 3D cross sectional images of the jaws and teeth. It is a compact, faster and safer version of the regular CT scanner. Through the use of a cone shaped x-ray beam, the size of the scanner, radiation dosage and time needed for scanning are all much reduced. The machine moves around your head in a circular motion in a similar way to the panoramic dental radiography unit which is commonly used in dental surgeries and hospitals, which you may have already experienced.

Pigmentation Treatment

Pigmentation and age spots can be treated by either the use of topical creams or the Harmony XL AFT (Advanced Fluorescence Technology) which is an advanced IPL (intense pulsed light) therapy. Whilst the use of topical creams can make some difference, AFT Therapy is an extremely effective treatment to lighten blemishes and in many cases, to eliminate them completely. Harmony XL AFT (Advanced Fluorescence Technology) is the greatest advancement in pigmentation treatment so far. AFT is a form of intense pulsed light. The melanin in the pigmented areas of skin absorbs the light, stimulating cell renewal from deep within the skin. The heat from the light destroys the pigmented cells on the outer epidermis, and in most cases, skin from the treated area will darken and flake off between 7-14 days, revealing lighter, brighter skin underneath. Another characteristic of ageing skin is loss of volume and elasticity. One additional benefit of this treatment is that it helps to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin which greatly improves the overall appearance of the skin.

Dr Khanna graduated from the University of Cardiff in 1993. He subsequently spent four years as an associate in general practice before opening his own Clinic in Ascot in 1997. Dr Khanna has continued to work in private practice and has developed an interest in Implantology and Cosmetic Dentistry. In recognition of his devotion to his patients and outstanding patient care, Dr Khanna was awarded the prestigious Private Dentist of the Year award in 2009. Following this achievement, Dr Khanna opened the DrBK clinic here in Reading offering his patients the very best dental care in the most relaxing of environments.

Alongside his extensive work in Dentistry, Dr Khanna has established a reputation for leadership in the field of Facial Aesthetics. He is an internationally renowned Lecturer in this field and regularly Chairs and lectures at the largest Conferences in the world. Dr Khanna has been appointed as one of the Clinical Directors for the Facial Aesthetics Masterclass (FGDP) at the Royal College of Surgeons.
