It might sound bad but in fact a Root Canal is an excellent way to hold onto your teeth with minimal work and long lasting results. If tooth decay has gone too far for a simple filling you may need a root canal to hold onto your tooth. A root canal removes all the infection and then fills the site of the infection so it does not return. After the canal has been filled you may need a Crown to protect the tooth from any more damage.

 

While many root canals may be performed by your normal dentist, some may require a specialist Endodontist - Your back teeth are often the hardest to perform a root canal on.

Review As a patient I have been very lucky in that I have never suffered with dentist phobia but I would like to say that after a previous bad experience with another dentist here in Spain, I had been reluctant to try anybody else. Hence I had not seen a dentist since going back to the UK for regular treatment until 2006. Consequently when teeth got broken or fillings needed attention I had "postponed" semi-permanently seeking any treatment. Can I say that after two wisdom teeth extractions (one of them particularly difficult for patient and dentist alike), a new crown and two fillings I would have no hesitation in recommending you to friends who might need a dentist here. In fact we already have. You kept me well informed at every stage of the process and showed great concern as to my comfort (and lack of pain) in a stressful situation and there was no hesitation in finding a solution to my particular problem with the obstinate wisdom root.Patrick, Spain, 17 Apr 13
