?Dr. Debra Dawn Occeña-Sablada has been in private practice since 1995. After graduating from the University of the Philippines and placing in the Dental Board Examinations, she took her Post Graduate training at the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital Department of Oral Surgery and Hospital Dentistry from 1994-1995. Since then, she had continually been updating her education and skills. Her second post graduate training was an 18-month  preceptorship in Oral Implantology, under the tutelage of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. Eliezer Blanes(past President of the Philippine Dental Association)  in conjunction with the Alpha Bio Dental Implant Center.Dr. Occeña-Sablada is the founding president of the Philippine Society of Osseointegration - Mindanao, a core group of Mindanaoan dentists dedicated to furthering the cause of excellence in Implant Dentistry. She is also the concurrent Vice President for Mindanao of the Philippine Society of Osseointegration .She was a former columnist of the Mindanao Daily Mirror, and her column, InciDental Thoughts, dealt with various aspects of Dental Health as a means to educate people about their dental care, believing that the best patients are those who ask questions about their teeth. She is an Associate Member of the Endodontic Society of the Philippines (a specialty group focusing on Root Canal Treatments) and the Prosthodontic Society of the Philippines (Prosthodontics being the study of the replacement of teeth!) Past affiliations also include membership in Toastmasters International (an organization devoted to excellence in Public Speaking), Rotary International, and the American Academy of Periodontology  (another specialty group dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease,placement of dental implants, etc) .An accomplished speaker, Dr. Occeña-Sablada  also serves as a resource person and guest lecturer in several dental symposia and civic gatherings. On a personal note, Dr. Debbie has been with beloved husband Teem Sablada for nearly 14 years, and is a doting and proud Mama of beautiful five year old Caitlin, a writer, an avid photographer , a frustrated interior designer and a lover of nature and the great outdoors.
