I was very pleased with the Texas Dental Clinic. Carlos helped me and my husband with translation to Dr. Mary. However, she could speak pretty good English. She is precious. They treated us very well.
Carlos followed up and called me even after I got home to see how I was. I appreciated that very much. When he found out I had a problem with the first bottom partial, he talked to the doctor and they said they would remake it free.
When I went back, I decided to replace them with flexible instead of the regular for better comfort. But, I am still having a problem with that.
The office was very clean and she was as gentle as she could be.
I had 9 crowns total, 3 fillings, and partial plates done. along with zoom whitening.
I am very happy with the crowns.
I did have a problem with the bottom partial plate, but they immediately told me they would replace it. We made flexible upper and lower partials the second time there. I do have a problem with them not feeling comfortable, but, I am not giving up on this clinic. I trust we can get it fixed comfortably later.. I need to talk to them. I feel sure they will help me out.
I have been down there twice now in the last month. I highly recommend this clinic. I will return for 7 more crowns later. I have told my friends and recommended this clinic to them. I gave the what a clinic information to them and one friend has already gone and is very happy with major work done.
They are precious people and worked tirelessly on me. It was really unbelievable to be treated so well. Carlos even put a blanket on me so that I wouldn't get cold.
The town was fun to shop in and there was an awesome Mexican restaurant there that I just hated to leave.
I am not afraid to go only to Nuevo Progeso, MX to get my dental work and will go back.

I went to this clinic last year for 3 implants. I had gone to 4 different dentist in Texas as I had a 10 year old implant bridge that had failed from an old car accident where I lost the teeth and bone. The average fee was $18,000.00. for the 3 implants. I spent the day with Dr. Cortez. I found her to be very professional and compassionate. She brought in a specialist to perform the implant work.
It was a few hours for the procedure, every sanitization procedure was followed (something I was worried about) When it was finished I had 3 implants and a new temporary bridge and no pain!
The cost of the 3 implants with bone and a temporary bridge was $3000.00. My husband had his teeth whitened and that was $150.00.
When I returned to my dentist to have the permanent porcelain bridge done, he told me it was some of the best implant work he had ever seen. He then charged me $10,000.00 for the rest of the work. I would have had my bridge done with Dr Cortez, but could not find the time for the trip back there.
I was extremely pleased with the work, the price, and the wonderful Dr Cortez and the implant specialist.

More was done than was anticipated but the treatment went well. Do not recommend scheduling an appointment on the weekend unless it's something minor, e.g. teeth cleaning, etc. Had we known we would not have scheduled a Sat. appointment.
The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. A special thanks to Nety who picked us up at the hotel and delivered us back to the hotel for each appointment. I would recommend Dr. Dominga and her staff for any dental work required.

I would recommend the Texas Dental clinic to anyone. They were very professional. I live in Arkansas and I found their services on the internet. I made an appointment and flew down to McAllen Texas. A staff member met me at the airport. She took me across the border to the clinic. After the doctor took a look at me, he sent me across the street for a full dental xray. Shortly afterword, the doctor and the clinic owner removed a bad bridge and 1 tooth. They then installed 2 implants that afternoon. After surgery, the staff took me back across the border to the Holiday inn express. ( 5 miles away) All this took place on a Saturday afternoon. I stayed in the Hotel all day Sunday to see if I had any complications. The staff checked on me after. I felt better Monday and I flew home. Their initial price for 2 implants, a tooth and bridge pulled was $1,200. When I go back in January to get the implants capped and a crown, the price will be an additional $1,400. If I added up the 2 plane trips, the hotels and food my total expense will be somewhere around $4,200. This is less than half of the $8,500 my American dentist quoted me. What a savings! I have a neighbour that had the same work done here in Arkansas last year. She paid $9,000. she had complications, had to have the implants removed and suffered for almost a year to finally get the work done.
The Texas Dental Clinic is only 3 blocks from the border in Pregesso Nuevo Mexico. The area is safe, the staff takes care of you. They will even take you sight seeing or Shopping! Now that the worst is over, I look forward to receiving my caps and do some sight seeing on my follow up trip.
The whole process is simple.

Hi My name is Daryl Zipp my Wife Maria and I were looking for an affordable dentist we found Dr. Dominga Cortez on the internet and we were familiar with the little town of Progresso Mexico we have been there many times and we knew it was a very safe place to travel to. I read all the reviews and found that Mrs Cortez had been practicing for 18 years and she had many good reviews. So I went to her. I am very glad I did. I had discoloured and missing teeth. I wanted to get a smile makeover so she talked with me about my options. So I choose to have crowns in the front upper and lower and bridges in the back. I did consult with a dentist here in Texas and he wanted over $1100.00 per tooth and I had over 25 crowns done. Price in Texas over $25,000.00 With Mrs Cortez it was $380.00 per tooth because I had so many done. The down side I spent a long time in her dentist chair but it was worth it. All of my teeth are perfectly straight and I have a bright white smile. I was very nervous at first going to Mexico. But after my work was done I was relaxed and very pleased. On a personal note I did get to know Dominga her Daughter Karen, Her Assistant Ruby, And the Front office Assistant Efferin. They all speak English and they are all warm hearted caring professionals. So I suggest you go see Mrs Dominga Cortez She is the Best.

I am more than pleased with the dental work I had done at the Texas Dental Clinic on 6/29/12. I had two crowns replaced and a root canal done on the same day. The cost was less than one fifth what my U.S. dentist quoted. The work done is superb. I will return for more. The town is safe and the border crossing fast and easy. I told the customs inspector that he is ten times better than TSA at our airports.

The first telephone call (in July) they made got cut off,so I just went about my business here in Corpus Christi until I finished up my projects about two months later,and finally drove with my camper van/mini-motorhome down to the border to check out the place. I just saved money by parking at the Weslaco Walmart for 4 consecutive nights. Actually,in the end, I find myself quite pleased with their service, which was very friendly, and highly professional. Jorge Vargas (root canals) is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY ME, as he did a total of 17 root canals ($153.00 American each) over (3) days, doing (10) on the second day alone, approx. 1/2 hour for each root canal, with many ongoing close up x-rays to gauge his progress/results on each tooth/nerve. He works pain-free, fast, yet very carefully, and very friendly/ considerately... Dominga Cortez (dental surgeon/owner) then followed up with a fiberglass post and filling in one molar that I lost the filling 7-8 months back, and she did extraction of my remaining wisdom tooth that the dentist back here in Corpus Christi, Texas had been too timid to dare to tackle after he had problems removing the other one(I had "hook-shaped" roots on my wisdom teeth...)they followed up as well with a panoramic x-ray of my teeth done on a fancy machine a couple of blocks away for ($30.00 American)of which they give you a cd-rom of to take home with you for your personal records. I am VERY pleased with their level of professionalism, friendliness, and economy of price so far, as once I arrived there they were eager to provide fast, respectful service at an affordable price, and it is my intention to follow up with posts and crowns at a later date to complete my oral rehabilitation... Just because of what I heard about border town in Mexico, I was very nervous about going there all by myself. But everyone in the office was extremely courteous they were happy to give me a ride from the US side and even give me a little suggestion of where to eat, get pedicure and shop. The procedure was okay. When the dental assistant gave me and x-ray, it kind of hurt. And I've notice some of the equipment was outdated. But you can't beat the price. I would definately recommend and come again.

Last month my boyfriend and I had extensive dental work at Texas Dental Clinic. This included new Zirconia crowns (absolutely beautiful)dentures, partials, zoom whitener and extractions (ten!) The work that Dr. Dominga did with her staff was exceptional, given the time constraints and the amount of work we had done. I would highly recommend Dr, Domminga and her staff. We plan on going back to her clinic happily. We had a great time in the town of Nuevo Progreso. no need for fear in the town, (it is very safe) you will not regret you decision. All over, very happy. I especially appreciated Dr. Dominga's attention to detail. Can'[t wait to go back and finish the last four crowns,not to mention the exceptional shopping!

No-I was not satisfied. I went to the Texas Dental Clinic for a crown. I had had a crown on a molar which was done by a US dentist. It lasted 6 years. The crown fell off one day while eating and I broke a portion of the tooth off. I thought by going to Mexico, I could save money. The female dentist looked at my tooth and said I did not have enough base for a crown and I needed a root canal first. Then pins would be added and a base could be built up on the tooth so that it would accept a new crown. I said okay. Within minutes, another dentist, (young male) arrives with what looks like a black fishing tackle box. He was the root canal specialist and he carries his tools/dental instruments in the box. He attempted to numb me up. Gave me over eight shots but I could not get numb. He tried to drill my tooth with a large size drill bit. I had to stop him cause of the pain and vibration. He again gave me two more shots for the pain bending the needle on one because he tried to go into the bone. He pulls the needle out, straightens it with his fingers and tries to stick it back in. At this point, I finally stopped him and told him no. No more. I was leaving. The female dentist, did ask me to stay so she could at least put a temporary filling on the tooth. This was appreciated and helped. However, by now, the experience was not a good one. They charged me 60 dollars. I did go back to my US dentist. He charged me 800 dollars for the crown. However, he stated I had plenty of tooth remaining and did not need a root canal. The crown was put in and all is well. This is a stark difference from what the Mexican dentist told me. I am only left to wonder why they were so quick to recommend a root canal if I did not need one.
Would you recommend the clinic?
Apparently it works for some but not everyone. I personally will not go back. But, while I was in the clinic's waiting room, several american patients were there and they attested to having had very positive experiences with this dentist.
Would you return for further treatment?
I do not recommend. In hindsight, one has no recourse if something goes wrong. Although the dentist assured me, she would see me anytime in an emergency, I was not impressed with the protocols used. US denistry is way more advanced. For example, the dentist who tried to perform the root canal worked alone. He did not use an assistant to help. Drilling, suction, shots and even handing me a water cup to rinse were all handled by himself. Half the time, he hung the suction device on my mouth in a place where it was ineffective and caused pain. If you are used to US denistry, it will not alleviate your anxiety when you see all this no matter what the savings. Secondly, one is left wondering whether there a concerted effort by these dentist to provide more procedures than necessary. Could this be a way to make more money? One is only left to ponder this possibility.

The dentists and her staff were very friendly, courteous, and professional. The building was clean and organized. The old town atmosphere of Progreso was very enjoyable and non-threatening. My wife had a peticure,manicure, and legs waxed while I was getting my procedure done. I feel the process of having the implants installed was as good or better than what I could have gotten in the states. I still have to go back and have the procedure finished in June, and we are looking forward to the trip. The only down side was they didn't have a translator there for the first appointment and there was some confusion on pricing. The cost of the attachments for the implants was not included on there web-site. These matters were settled before the procedure was done and I was happy with the price..

Were you pleased with the treatment?
We are extremely happy with Dr Dominga and her staff. The specialist that she uses for root canal work, Dr Jorge, was terrific and even saw one of us on a Sunday for an emergency.
We've had 3 root canals and a total of 9 crowns so far and their work is very professional. Dominga is a sweetheart and you can immediately tell she cares about her patients.
We give the Texas Dental Clinic our highest recommendation.

Absolutely, without hesitation.
Would you return for further treatment?
We still have appointments scheduled for next week and we're confident that we won't be disappointed in the care we will receive. In addition, Nuevo Progresso is terrific and safe!

I am very pleased with the results of my dental treatment at Texas Dental Clinic. The estimate is what I paid. I was given the opportunity to have other dental work done while there for the tooth implant. That included: replacing old fillings for white fillings, a crown, and cleaning at a very reasonable price.
Would you recommend the clinic?
The staff was not only courteous, but also warm and friendly. When was the last time you hugged your dentist after your fillings replaced?
I appreciated the fact that all the staff and the surgeon I was in contact with were bilingual.
Would you return for further treatment?
Having dental work done at Texas Dental Clinic was a positive experience and I would return for further treatment. I will be returning in February for the completion of my tooth implant.

I was very pleased with the cleanliness and professionalism. The treatments were well done and the results were great.
Would you recommend the clinic?
I highly recommend this clinic. I have been coming to it for 6 years for minor and major treatments. I recommend it to my friends and family here in the US. Most of the staff are dual language (Spanish/English) so communication is not a problem.
Would you return for further treatment?
I have returned for an implant and will complete it in two weeks. I expect nothing but satisfaction as always. US dentists cannot beat the price, in most cases the clinic price is 50% of the US price. I come from Austin, so with the money I save I take a min-vacation each time!

Were you pleased with the treatment?
I was very pleased with the treatments that were given to me. Being a nurse I notice things that some patients might not as overall cleanliness, sterile instruments and the knowledge of the professionals in their techniques.
Would you recommend the clinic?
I would recommend this clinic to friends and family. Both Dr Edgar and Dr Mari were very professional, personable and friendly.
Would you return for further treatment?
I intend to go back in two weeks and have 2 more fillings done and then in a year for teeth whitening.

Everyone was helpful and friendly
Were you pleased with the treatment?
Yes. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The price was what was quoted. I was apprehensive of the procedure of implants, but experienced only mild discomfort and no pain from the procedure. Manny was courteous and helpful in providing all necessary transportation to and from the airport, our hotel and the dental clinic. This made the whole process much easier and hassel free.
Would you recommend the clinic?
Yes, I would recommend this clinic to anyone who was looking to have dental work done.
Would you return for further treatment?
I will be returning to finalize the dental work as it is a two step process.
