Reviewed 16 February 2017 "I can not say enough about the way we have been treated"
"I was referred to Dr Benitez by several friends in the US but had been reluctant to go across the border because of the many stories from the past. Nonsense.. I went with a friend several weeks ago and was soooo pleased that I did. I had two permanent bridges, two cavities repaired (can't see where, and they are on my front teeth) and two implants. Not only was it painless but I saved a mere $38,000 from the quotes I received from San Antonio Dentists. I was so pleased with the work and cost that I took my youngest son who needed 19 cavities and a deep cleaning done. I had been told that he needed his wisdom teeth extracted and it would have to be done via oral surgery and the cost was astronomical. After going to Dr Benitez, he showed us the xrays of the wisdom teeth and they were straight and did not need surgery at all. After all said and done we saved another $11,000 and the repairs were painless. Next was my oldest son who had just been to the dentist in San Antonio that had charged him $130 to fill one cavity. They told him that he had 9 more that needed to be filled but that would not do the work or even clean his teeth unless he had this special gum treatment that cost $300 first. We went to Dr. Benitez and guess what! One cavity easily repaired on his front tooth( can't see the repair at all) a good cleaning revealed that he did not need any other work! total cost $55. To say that we are pleased is somewhat understated. Tomorrow I am taking my wife to have a checkup and cleaning done. I can not say enough about the way we have been treated by the staff. They are incredible.. Abby speaks better English than I do so don't worry about the language barrier because there is not one. Also if you need other services like eye glasses, pharmacy etc. they can help you find the right one and take the worry out of which to choose. I found glasses with the help of Abby and I got progressive lenses with exam and frames for $140. I paid $800 in San Antonio. I hope this helps someone find the right dentist in Progresso because there are so many to choose from

Extremely clean and sanitary. Xray technology was amazing."

Reviewed 15 February 2017 "I definitely will return."
"I was at this clinic in 2016 and was very happy with the two root canals I had done. In 2017 I returned because part of my tooth/filling came out. Dr. Francisco made an overlay. Both the temporary and the permanent piece fit perfectly. I especially am happy with the spacing between my teeth both years. I do not get food caught in them. This clinic is professional but personable right away when you walk in. My dentist looked young but did a very professional job on my overlay. The office looks clean and well kept. I definitely will return next year to have my teeth cleaned and any other work completed."

Reviewed 12 December 2016 "It was a great experience. Wonderful and pain free"
"I had a pain free root canal with a pin put in place to stabilize sthe tooth and crown. After permanent crown was put in place I had impressions done for a partial. I go back tomorrow to have it fitted. I wasn't a candidate for implants. After having xrays a partial was the only option. Dr.Benitez and Dr.Susez were professional, courteous and friendly. The office and exam area were bright and spotless. Abby at the front desk will translate anything you don't understand . She is friendly, out going and ready to help. I would recommend this office to my family and friends and will make the 1700 mile trip for future dental work. Prices that were quoted before any work was done was very reasonable. I was quoted 8235.00 US at home and was charged 900.00US dollars here. It was a great experience. Wonderful and pain free"

Bone Graft

Bone grafting is a surgical procedure that replaces missing bone in order to repair bone fractures that are extremely complex, pose a significant health risk to the patient, or fail to heal properly.

Bone generally has the ability to regenerate completely but requires a very small fracture space or some sort of scaffold to do so. Bone grafts may be autologous (bone harvested from the patient’s own body, often from the iliac crest), allograft (cadaveric bone usually obtained from a bone bank), or synthetic (often made of hydroxyapatite or other naturally occurring and biocompatible substances) with similar mechanical properties to bone. Most bone grafts are expected to be reabsorbed and replaced as the natural bone heals over a few months’ time.

Dental braces

 (also known as braces

orthodontic cases

, or cases

) are devices used in orthodontics

 that align and straighten teeth

and help to position them with regard to a person's bite, while also working to improve dental health. They are often used to correct underbites

, as well as malocclusions

, overbites

, open bites, deep bites

, cross bites

, crooked teeth, and various other flaws of the teeth

 and jaw

. Braces can be either cosmetic or structural. Dental braces are often used in conjunction with other orthodontic appliances to help widen the palate

 or jaws

and to otherwise assist in shaping the teeth and jaws.

Dental Bonding

Bonding is the application of a tooth-colored composite resin (plastic) to repair a decayed, chipped, fractured or discolored tooth. Unlike veneers, which are manufactured in a laboratory and require a customized mold to achieve a proper fit, bonding can be done in a single visit. The procedure is called bonding because the material bonds to the tooth.

Dental Crowns

Zirconia Crown

Zirconium crowns and bridges are so strong they can be used anywhere in the mouth. Zirconium crowns can withstand the biting pressure of the front teeth as well as back teeth grinding.

The look of zirconium crowns and bridges is so close to natural teeth that it is hard to tell the difference and it is this quality which makes it very useable within dental work. Zirconium crowns can be fixed using traditional dental cements.

Zirconium crowns have quickly become the preferred material for dental crowns. Zirconium is a very strong substance that can endure wear and tear of everyday use. When looking at Zirconium crowns from an aesthetic point it is clear and very similar to a natural tooth and reflects light the same way. This may be important if your new crowns are on the front of your mouth and it is particularly relevant in cases where the crown will be seen next to the natural teeth.

$1000  -  $1100
Dental Implants

This method employs a non-submerged one-piece implant that has a metal collar designed to protrude through the gum while the bone is healing to the implant. After a suitable healing time, an abutment can be connected to the implant, allowing for fabrication of the crown to replace the missing tooth. Alternatively, a one-stage technique can be achieved by immediate connection of a temporary healing abutment to a two-piece implant that protrudes through the gum in much the same way as a one-piece implant. Both single stage and two-stage implants have similar success rates and you should ask your dentist which systems they use and discuss how one- or two-stage procedures might be appropriate for you.

$10  -  $50
Dental X-Ray

Radiographs, commonly know as x-rays, are an essential tool for your CDA member dentist to properly diagnose your oral health. They allow your dentist to see beyond what can be seen visually and provide the ability to diagnose dental disease in the early stages– before it has advanced to the point of causing discomfort and destruction. X-rays assist the dentist in determining the presence and degree of dental caries (cavities), periodontal disease, abscesses and abnormal growths, such as tumors or cysts. They also show the location and condition of impacted or unerupted teeth.

Wisdom teeth, or third molars, do not always erupt properly when they decide to make an appearance. It's wise to get an early opinion from your dentist on getting wisdom teeth removed before they become impacted, causing pain, swelling, infection, cavities or gum disease.

Composite is the filling of choice when it comes to matching your tooth color. Composite fillings consist of plastic and glass particles. They have become the most popular filling material because in addition to closely resembling your existing tooth color they also solidly bond or glue to the tooth. Also, they don’t contain mercury or any other metal like silver fillings and there is less likelihood of sensitivity to cold food and drinks.

Inlay or Onlay

In dentistry, an inlay is usually an indirect restoration (filling) consisting of a solid substance (as gold, porcelain or less often a cured composite resin) fitted to a cavity in a tooth and cemented into place. This technique involves fabricating the restoration outside of the mouth using the dental impressions of the prepared tooth, rather than placing a soft filling into the prepared tooth before the material sets hard.

An onlay is the same as an inlay, except that it incorporates a replacement for a tooth cusp by covering the area where the missing cusp would be. Crowns are onlays which completely cover all surfaces of a tooth.

$80  -  $100
Mouth Guard

A night guard is a thin piece of hard plastic made from impressions of your teeth placed on the upper or lower teeth.

Night guard is hard and durable, but it protects the teeth from wear since it is softer than teeth.

Night guard is adjusted to fit your bite evenly and smoothly when you try it.

$200  -  $210
Root canals

A root canal treatment generally involves the removal and replacement of a tooth’s pulp. The pulp is soft tissue containing blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue dies. If you don't remove it, your tooth gets infected and you could lose it. During a root canal, the dentist removes the pulp, and the root canal is cleaned and sealed off to protect it. Afterwards, the dentist places a crown over the tooth to help make it stronger.

Scaling and Root Planing

If plaque and tartar is left on the teeth, as we mentioned before

, it provides the right conditions for bacteria to thrive. The bacteria irritate the gums, which means that they bleed more easily. You may notice this if you are brushing your teeth, or eating, and sometimes your gums may bleed a bit. This is the early stage of gum disease called gingivitis

. If you have gingivitis, your dentist or hygienist will clean your teeth by scaling and polishing

them. They may also recommend an antiseptic mouthwash and show you how to brush and floss your teeth effectively. Most adults have some degree of gum disease.

$200  -  $210
Teeth Whitening

The whitening process consists of bleaching stained or dull teeth. A dazzling smile is only a simple and painless procedure away!

$350  -  $400

Laminate veneers are a conservative treatment of unaesthetic anterior teeth. The continued development of dental ceramics offers clinicians many options for creating highly aesthetic and functional porcelain veneers. This evolution of materials, ceramics, and adhesive systems permits improvement of the aesthetic of the smile and the self-esteem of the patient. Clinicians should understand the latest ceramic materials in order to be able to recommend them and their applications and techniques, and to ensure the success of the clinical case. The current literature was reviewed to search for the most important parameters determining the long-term success, correct application, and clinical limitations of porcelain veneers.
