"Crowns, root canal,fillings, surgery

Girlfriend and I just returned from 3 weeks of dental work by MDV. Dr Jennifer Hernandez did the general dentistry work, Fillings, crowns, cleaning and laser whitening. She works out of MDV's office but has her own office as well.. I went to have old crowns replaced but ran into problems because of bacteria under the crowns. I saw Dr. Juan Lizarraga in his office for diagnostics and a root canal. He has all the latest equipment, digital x-ray equipment, oral camera and ability to show you everything on a computer monitor. Also has bone density testing equipment. Due to the serious deterioration of 3 teeth, it was extraction or oral surgery to cut my gums and remove a portion of bone to allow for new crowns. I chose surgery and saw periodontist Dr. Juan Ledezma. He did the surgery in MDV's office but has his own office. All three dentists are in their early 30's. Well educated, very thorough and explained everything they were going to do but only with my approval. They speak limited English but the office manager Veronica Erickson is there for translations. She is a gringo gal from Illinois. A couple of times, I was hesitant because they were doing things I had not anticipated or researched. In the end I decided to let them do everything they recommended. Very little pain and very happy with all three or them. Because of the time required for my gums to heal from the surgery, I ran out of time for the 3 additional root canals and crowns. Dr. Lizarraga covered them with packing and I am returning in a few months for the remaining work. My girlfriend had a dozen very old amalgam fillings removed and replaced with composites. She is very pleased with Dr. Jenny's work. She also cleaned her teeth and did laser whitening. I was not asked to pay up front."

Reviewed 07 December 2007 "Now I have hope again"
"I requested info from Mexican Dental Vacation in August or September of this year regarding dental implants and/or dentures. I am hoping to have these procedures done after the new year. Dr. Mackey's office contacted me promptly and his assistant, Alisa, was SO helpful and encouraging. After we discussed what procedures I was considering, she informed Dr. Mackey, who called me himself! I was very impressed and reassured after speaking with both him and Alisa, and am very anxious to get started. Alisa even emailed me a list of reasonably priced hotels near the dental office that she recommended and also explained everything in regard to travel from the airport, things to do while there, just everything! It was so nice, because I have never been to Mexico, (or outside the U.S. at all, for that matter) and the thought was a little intimidating at first. Dr. Mackey answered all my questions patiently-and I had lots! He explained his credentials, how I could verify them, projected treatment costs, anticipated number of total visits that would be required, recovery time and even gave me suggestions on procedures I could have done here first for a reasonable cost in order to make the whole process easier for me. I hope to visit Dr. Mackey in February or March and will be happy to give additional feedback afterwards. Thank you, RevaHealth, for giving me hope and optimism again-I was so very depressed because of the condition of my teeth and even with insurance, I could see no hope of ever being able to afford the work I need. I can't tell you how psychologically devastating it is to not be able to smile, to feel embarrassed and ashamed of how you look and feeling like people are looking down on you because of the poor condition of your teeth. Now I have hope again-THANK YOU!"

Dental Implants
Dental implants are titanium “screws” implanted (set) into the jaw bone in place of your teeth. They are the most permanent and trouble free solution to missing teeth.

These dental implants are quite versatile, being used for replacing a single tooth, several missing teeth, or even all teeth on the upper or lower jawbone – know as arches in dentistry.

When used for replacing a single tooth, these dental implants are seated directly into the bone, and depending on the patient and the system used, a crown will then be seated on the implant, immediately if possible - or the patient may have to wait up to 6 months before the crown can be permanently affixed.

Guaranteed for 3 years.A inlay is used when a filling needs to be replaced, but when the old filling is removed, there is not enough tooth structure left to support a filling. An inlay is then placed in the area where the old filling was, and is a much better and longer lasting solution than a large filling. An onlay is done for the same reason, but is used when the side of the tooth is removed, and is sometimes called a partial crown.
