Competent and honest.

5 50 Cosmetic Dentist Consultation

Dr. Josefina and her receptionist Armando were my heroes on my dental trips to Los Algodones. I admit, I had some terrible experiences with some other clinics. Dr. Josefina gave me free consultations that were a voice of sanity, advising the most conservative treatment (rather than trying to get the most money out of me). She corrected work that had been done improperly, and her work stood up and checked out well when I got home to Seattle. Even more, they advocated for me when I needed it- They went the extra mile and beyond, and were the kindest, best and most helpful allies I could have asked for.

Solis Dental is not a fancy clinic, but that's not what counts. Dr. Josefina has been in practice for over 30 years, continually taking advanced courses, and her walls are decorated with her many diplomas and certificates. Her receptionist speaks excellent English. She is a kind and caring, as well as a competent and honest, doctor of dentistry.

Excellent work

5 50 Dental Crowns, Dental Bridges • Paid: $11000

full mouth crowns and bridges

As a former dental practitioner, I was looking for a competent knowledgeable dentist. I researched much that Algadones offered and settled on Solis Oral Care Centre.

I was correct in determining that Dr's. Luis and Josefina had not only the right qualifications and experience, but their hands on techniques were unsurpassed in terms of quality and attention to detail. Much of my crown and bridgework had been done by colleagues 25-30 years ago. Ds. Josefina and Dr Luis both had input and performed procedures for me and I am happy to say that a full mouth restoration of 28 teeth included, root canal, crowns, bridgework, implants and bone grafting. Their knowledge of these procedures were naturally under scrutiny by myself, but I could find no fault in any of the work performed. They were very thorough, thoughtful and discussed the treatment plan at each step of the way.

My wife also had some remediation performed, and it has been flawless. My wife and I have been to Solis twice in the past two years, and the warm friendly reception is the same whether it was the first time or the twentieth time. I am heading back to Solis in one month (Sept 2013) to finish the crown work on the implants that have healed in place since I was last there six months ago.. I am also taking a good friend along for some dental work and I am happy to recommend both Ds. Josefina Martinez and Dr. Luis Javier Solis.

Excellent work, excellent savings, excellent facilities and hygiene. Thank you Ds. Josefina and Dr. Luis.

Best regards, Dr. John

Air abrasion is a way to remove decay from a tooth without using a dental drill. It works like a sandblaster removing graffiti from walls. The air abrasion hand piece blows a powerful air stream of tiny aluminum oxide particles out of its tip onto the tooth. The tiny particles bounce off the tooth and blast the decay away.

Dental braces (also known as orthodontic braces, or braces) are devices used in orthodontics that align and straighten teeth and help to position them with regard to a person's bite, while also working to improve dental health. They are often used to correct underbites, as well as malocclusions, overbites, cross bites, open bites, deep bites, crooked teeth, and various other flaws of the teeth and jaw. Braces can be either cosmetic or structural. Dental braces are often used in conjunction with other orthodontic appliances to help widen the palate or jaws and to otherwise assist in shaping the teeth and jaws.

Dental Bridges (2 sessions)

Dental Bridges - Solis Oral Care CenterDental Bridges - Solis Oral Care Center

A dental restoration (a fixed dental prosthesis) used to replace a missing tooth (or several teeth) by joining an artificial tooth permanently to adjacent teeth or dental implants.
Types of bridges may vary, depending upon how they are fabricated and the way they anchor to the adjacent teeth.
A bridge is fabricated by reducing the teeth on either side of the missing tooth or teeth by a preparation pattern determined by the location of the teeth and by the material from which the bridge is fabricated. In other words, the abutment teeth are reduced in size to accommodate the material to be used to restore the size and shape of the original teeth in a correct alignment and contact with the opposing teeth. The dimensions of the bridge are defined by Ante's Law: "The root surface area of the abutmentteeth has to equal or surpass that of the teeth being replaced with pontics".

The materials used for the bridges include gold

, porcelain

fused to metal, or porcelain alone. The amount and type of reduction done to the abutment teeth varies slightly with the different materials used. The recipient of such a bridge must be careful to clean well under this prosthesis.

Implant Bridge (4 sessions)

Implant Bridge - Solis Oral Care CenterImplant Bridge - Solis Oral Care Center

An implant-supported bridge is similar to a regular dental bridge, but it is supported by implants and not by natural teeth. In most cases, when an implant-supported bridge is used, one implant is placed in the jawbone for each missing tooth. Then the crowns are connected to each other to form one piece

When several teeth in a row are missing, they can be replaced by a bridge anchored to implants. An implant is not needed for each tooth being replaced. Three or four teeth can be replaced with just two dental implants for support. This is less expensive than placing an individual implant for each tooth being replaced. Dental implants are strong and can support the biting forces of several teeth when they are anchored together.

A crown is a type of dental restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant. Crowns are often needed when a large cavity threatens the ongoing health of a tooth.

They are typically bonded to the tooth using a dental cement

. Crowns can be made from many materials, which are usually fabricated using

indirect methods

. Crowns are often used to improve the strength or appearance of teeth.

A dental implant is by far the best way to replace a missing tooth. Teeth adjacent to the missing tooth do not need to be ground down to support a bridge. The new tooth looks and feels just like (or better than) the tooth it replaced.

Dental X-Ray

Dental X-Ray - Solis Oral Care CenterDental X-Ray - Solis Oral Care Center

Dental Radiographs are commonly called x-rays. Dentists use radiographs for many reasons: to find hidden dental structures, malignant or benign masses, bone loss, and cavities.

A radiographic image is formed by a controlled burst of X-ray radiation which penetrates oral structures at different levels, depending on varying anatomical densities, before striking the film or sensor. Teeth appear lighter because less radiation penetrates them to reach the film. Dental caries, infections and other changes in the bone density, and the periodontal ligament, appear darker because X-rays readily penetrate these less dense structures. Dental restorations (fillings, crowns) may appear lighter or darker, depending on the density of the material.
The dosage of X-ray radiation received by a dental patient is typically small (around 0.150 mSv for a full mouth series, according to the American Dental Association website), equivalent to a few days' worth of background environmental radiation exposure.

Dentures (2 sessions)

Dentures - Solis Oral Care CenterDentures - Solis Oral Care Center

Dentures, also known as , are prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth; they are supported by the surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. Conventional dentures are removable (removable partial denture or complete denture). However, there are many different denture designs, some which rely on bonding or clasping onto teeth or dental implants (fixed prosthodontics). There are two main categories of dentures, the distinction being whether they are used to replace missing teeth on the mandibular arch or on the maxillary arch.

Two types of dentures are available -- complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.

Extractions (30 mins)

Extractions - Solis Oral Care CenterExtractions - Solis Oral Care Center

A teeth from the dental alveolus(socket) in the alveolar bone. Extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons, but most commonly to remove teeth which have become unrestorable throughtooth decay, periodontal disease or dental trauma; especially when they are associated with toothache. Sometimes wisdom teeth are impacted (stuck and unable to grow normally into the mouth) and may cause recurrent infections of the gum (pericoronitis). In orthodontics if the teeth are crowded, sound teeth may be extracted (often bicuspids) to create space so the rest of the teeth can be straightened.
Tooth extraction is usually relatively straightforward, and the vast majority can be usually performed quickly while the individual is awake by using local anestheticinjections to eliminate painful sensations. Local anesthetic blocks pain, but mechanical forces are still vaguely felt. Some teeth are more difficult to remove for several reasons, especially related to the tooth's position, the shape of the tooth roots and the integrity of the tooth. If a tooth is buried in the bone, a surgical or trans alveolar approach may be required, which involves cutting the gum away and removal of the bone which is holding the tooth in with a surgical drill. After the tooth is removed, stitches are used to replace the gum into the normal position.

Mouth Guard

Mouth Guard - Solis Oral Care CenterMouth Guard - Solis Oral Care Center

A mouth guard covers your teeth, cushioning them against grinding or biting as you sleep. Just slip one on at bedtime for all-night protection.

You only have one set of adult teeth. You can't make more if you damage the ones you have. That's why it's important to take good care of them. Grinding your teeth at night can gradually wear down the enamel on your teeth. Plus, it can cause headaches and contributes to jaw problems likeTMJ. What's surprising is many tooth grinders aren't even aware they grind their teeth! Fortunately, there's a way to protect your pearly whites as you sleep - by wearing a dental mouth guard.

Teeth cleaning is part of oral hygiene and involves the removal of dental plaque from teeth with the intention of preventing cavities (dental caries), gingivitis, and periodontal disease. People routinely clean their own teeth by brushing and interdental cleaning, and dental hygienists can remove hardened deposits (tartar) not removed by routine cleaning

from $100

Deep cleaning (45 mins)

Deep cleaning is also known in the dental world as scaling and root planing. Scaling involves removing plaque and tartar from the surface of the teeth and from the pocket area between the teeth and gums, according to the NIDCR. The dental hygienist can perform scaling and root planing using either electriceor ultrasonic instruments or manual scaling tools.
The other part of deep cleaning is root planing. The dental hygienist will use a scaling instrument to remove plaque and tartar from the surface of the roots of your teeth. A scaling and root planing procedure will require a minimum of two visits as an appointment. A follow-up visit may be necessary to confirm that your gums and teeth are getting healthier and there is no pocket depth.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth Whitening - Solis Oral Care CenterTeeth Whitening - Solis Oral Care Center

Bleaching methods use carbamide peroxide which reacts with water to form hydrogen peroxide. Carbamide peroxide has about a third of the strength of hydrogen peroxide. This means that a 15% solution of carbamide peroxide is the rough equivalent of a 5% solution of hydrogen peroxide. The peroxide oxidizing agent penetrates the porosities in the rod-like crystal structure of enamel and breaks down stain deposits in the dentin. Power bleaching uses light to accelerate the process of bleaching in a dental office. Another bleaching agent is 6-phthalimido peroxy hexanoic acid (PAP).

Veneers

Veneers - Solis Oral Care CenterVeneers - Solis Oral Care Center

veneer is a layer of material placed over a tooth, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth or to protect the tooth's surface from damage. There are two main types of material used to fabricate a veneer: composite and dental porcelain. A composite veneer may be directly placed (built-up in the mouth), or indirectly fabricated by a dental technician in a dental lab, and later bonded to the tooth, typically using a resin cement such as Panavia. In contrast, a porcelain veneer may only be indirectly fabricated. Full veneer crown is described as “A restoration that covers all the coronal tooth surfaces (Mesial, Distal, Facial, Lingual and Occlusal)”. Laminate veneer in other hand is a thin layer that covers only the surface of the tooth and generally used for aesthetic proposes.
