Teeth Whitening: Blue light teeth whitening is an innocuous and effective method of teeth whiteningusing special gel and quartz-halogen lamp. The procedure lasts for 50 minutes only and is controlled by a dentist. Prior to the actual treatment, gums are thoroughly isolated and whitening gel with hydrogen peroxide, which is activated by quartz-halogen lamp, is applied on teeth. Affected by light, gel extracts oxygen that penetrates into the dentin through enamel and decomposes dark pigments of a tooth into colourless particles. Depending on the result pursued and the particularities of teeth enamel’s structure, whitening gel is usually applied on teeth 3-5 times during the procedure. Thus, the teeth colour becomes lighter. Upon the completion of the procedure, teeth are being covered with special substance which includes sodium fluoride and which recoups deficiency in fluorine and reduces teeth sensitiveness. Those who have very sensitive teeth are recommended to use special drugs for home use to reduce sensitiveness and to strengthen enamel.
