Dental Implants

Replace missing or damaged teeth. Dental implants improve the cosmetic appearance of your teeth while also improving the health of your jaw. Areas of tooth loss can contribute to the weakening of bone in the jaw and further dental complications.

Your dental implant will consist of a titanium screw, placed into the jaw, and a crown which is attached to the screw.

Dental implants can also be used to create a secure anchor for dental bridges or dentures, in which case several titanium screws are anchored to the jaw to hold the fitting in place.

Dock Road, Galway Dental Implants: Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. The person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence, knowing that teeth appear natural and that facial contours will be preserved. The implants themselves are tiny titanium posts that are placed into the natural bone where teeth are missing. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. This is called oseointegration.

`Yes all was very satisfactory. We queried the need to have 2 dental implants and the dentist said it was not necessary. Retainers were recommended instead. This was very honest and saved us a fortune.

The Well Road, Ratoath Dental Implants: What does an implant cost? The cost of an implant is usually €2500 complete. This is tax allowable. New advances in dentistry make it possible to replace one or more missing teeth permanently without touching adjacent teeth. The end result is so good that only you would ever know that you had lost a tooth. A dental implant is a Titanium artificial root that is placed in the jaw bone where the tooth used to be. It is then left for a few months to heal and integrate with the bone before it can be loaded and carry a crown or artificial tooth. The surgical process is usually done under local anaesthetic here in the practice by Dr Lochlan Walsh our Periodontist. Sedation can be used but it is usually not required. The success rate of implants is now so high that you can expect them to last a lifetime.

Old Quarter House, Little Ellen Street, Limerick City Review by Kate - Were you pleased with the treatment?
No treatment was needed yet. Advised to use sensodyne and wait until tooth had settled down. if not to seek treatment. I was not charged even though he had taken two x-rays. He explained everything clearly and could not have been more helpful. I would highly recommend him.

Merchants Quay Business Quarter, Frances St, Kilrush Review by Rory - Were you pleased with the treatment?
I was very anxious about going to my dentist as it had been some time since my last dental examination. I need not have been so worried. I was advised of the work that I needed done - the priority/importance and cost. Everything was explained very clearly to me and I was asked to revert back to them if I wanted to proceed with the dental work. I was very happy with all the work that was carried out. The dentist talked me through the procedure. Surprisingly, I was far more relaxed than I had envisaged. Very happy with the results - teeth are white again. I will have no hesitation in keeping my next appointment.

9 Dunville Avenue, Ranelagh, Dublin Dental Implants: Implant, abutment and crown Dental implants are a permanent and fixed solution to missing teeth. A titanium screw is placed into the jaw bone to replace the tooth’s natural root. This integrates over a period of three to six months as the bone grows around the screw and holds it firmly in place. A crown is then placed onto the fixed screw to replace the original tooth. This treatment is suitable for the replacement of single teeth or complete tooth loss in the upper and lower jaw. The placement of implants involves a straightforward procedure usually carried out under local anesthetic. Many patients are suitable candidates for dental implants and the results provide the patient with the nearest alternative to their natural tooth or teeth that can look aesthetically superb and provide complete confidence when biting, chewing and laughing.

16 Clinics Open Nationwide, Ireland Dental Implants: A dental implant is a metal fixture (usually a screw) that is placed into the jaw bone. It acts as a support for a false tooth or a set of false teeth. The fixture fuses with the jaw bone (osseointegration). Implants are made of commercially and medically pure Titanium. This is the same metal that has been successfully used in hip replacements for many years. It is inert and is not known to cause any type of rejection phenomenon.
