The Hughes Dental Practice

Dr Tom Hughes is a graduate of the School of Dental Science, University of Dublin Trinity College. He qualified in December of 1984. Having spent ten years in private practice in London and Brighton he then returned to Malahide in Dec 1994 and set up a new practice at Marine Court Malahide.

 He has kept up with the advancements in Dentistry with Continuing education programs at the Dublin Dental School, Eastman and Guys Dental Schools London. He has a keen interest in all aspects of Dentistry but particular Endodontics, Cosmetic Dentistry Veneers Crown and Bridge work, Tooth whitening Paediatric Dentistry, Relative Analgesia Nitrous Oxide Sedation.

His love for dentistry is reflected in the set up of our second Dental Three Surgery practice and Dental Laboratory at Donabate in May 2005 and full refurbishment of the Malahide Office in March 2006. He is presently on two separate continuing education programs on Implant Dentistry.

Dr Jenny Mc Cafferty graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2005. She has worked as Junior House Officer in Dublin Dental School and Hospital from 2005- 2006. Jenny has special interest in Paediatric dentistry and presently holds a one day position at the hospital in the field of Childrens dentistry.

She works in Malahide and Donabate and will carry out advanced restorations for children namely pulpotomy/pulpectomy/stainless steel crowns/space mainteners for the decidious dentitions.

Christopher qualified in Medicine at Trinity College Dublin and Dentistry at Kings College London. He is now following up a specialty career in Maxillofacial Surgery. Christopher works saturdays in the field of Oral Surgery dealing with the extraction of wisdom teeth, apicectomies, biopsies, dental implants etc. Treatment can be carried out under intravenous sedation.

Christopher has worked in the Maxillofacial Surgery department at Southampton General Hospital and St James Hospital, Dublin. He is also a part time Registrar/Clinical tutor at Dublin Dental Hospital.

Dr. Nobert Krämer achieved his degree "MSc Orthodontics" at the Danube University of Krems / Austria in 2005. His scale of treatment covers the early treatment of children in the early mixed dentition as well as in the late mixed and permanent dentition. The orthodontic treatment of adults may be carried out -if necessary- in collaboration with the other Dentists/Oral Surgeon on our team. In this way an optimum individual result of the patients treatment can be achieved.

Appointments can be made in Malahide and Donabate with evening sessions also available.

Atef Hashem qualified in 1998 with his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S), at the Faculty of Dentistry, Garyounis University, Benghazi, Libya. In 2005 Atef qualified with a Masters Degree in Prosthodontics (M.Dent.Ch) having completed a three year full-time postgraduate program in Prosthodontics in Dublin Dental School and Hospital, Trinity College, Dublin. In 2007 he obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (MFD).

Atef works Saturdays and he is an invaluable member on our team, active Prosthodontist, where he will carry out all aspects of advanced prosthodontic treatment including Implants, Crowns, Ceramic Veneers, Complete/Partial Dentures etc. Along with this position he has a part time position as Tutor/supervisor at Dublin Dental School and Hospital.

Dr. Klaus Rocholl passed his final exam in dental surgery at Westphalian Wilhelms-Universitaet Muenster, Germany, in 1992. Focusing in all fields of surgical implantology and prosthodontics on dental implants since 1995, he passed his exam in dental implantology in 2005.

He covers all aspects of implant surgery including bone augmentative techniques and soft tissue management. Besides working in his own practice he is consulting, teaching and doing implants in several fellow German dental offices.

Natalie is our qualified full time Dental Laboratory Technician. She has nine years experience in the filed of Ceramic Crown and Bridgework and works in our Brand new Dental Laboratory at the Donabate Dental Office. Patients are now in a position to have a crowns fabricated inside 48 hours when required in emergency due to trauma etc.

Natalie is also available for taking Shade and Characterization for Crowns/Veneers and is in a position to consult the Dentist on the day of crown preparation due to her close proximity.
