"Tooth was removed fine. Was a bit off putting that when I asked for the procedure to be explained to me, or if there were any alternative treatments because on the consent form it asks if you were advised of same and I hadn't been. I was told that I could just leave. I think for a €75 consultation and €350 fee to remove the tooth, the least you can do is explain what is going to happen. Smiles was recommended to me, but I certainly won't be recommending it."

"Bless me father for I am sinned. Its been 7 years since my last visit to a dentist. Smiles on O'Connell was recommended to me by a colleague and I am delighted with the service. From the moment I arrived I was impressed with the service and facilities. Its open plan so there is no scary dental office vibe. I was lucky enough to be assigned to Doctor Eimear Mooney who was outstanding. She didn't judge my lack of dental hygiene over the past decade but instead quickly got to work diagnosing any issues. My first visit was a clean, polish and xray and consultation. My second visit was 3 fillings. The fillings were done in less then 40 minutes and look class. I am with decare dental so everything only cost me €63 as Smiles have a direct pay with decare which is amazing. Also I was able to fit both visits in before work as they open really early. I will definitely be back again in 6 months. I simply can't say enough good things about Smiles and Dr Eimear Mooney. Thank you for the amazing care and service."

Reviewed 29 October 2014 "Would recommend"
"Hello, the dentist and nurse took care of my dental filling and cleaning were very nice and professional. I barely felt any pain during anaesthetic and preside, however after 10 days from the treatment I start to get strong toothache, which I did not have before, so maybe because my decay was already very grave and during the cleaning the drill touch part of the pulp exposing the dentine and causing tooth pain. I would still recommend Smile Dental Surgery for qualified, friendly and professional dentists."

Dental Bridges
Bridges are commonly used to replace one or more missing teeth. Gaps left by missing teeth eventually cause the remaining teeth to rotate or shift into the empty spaces, resulting in a bad bite. Missing teeth can cause a change in occlusion (bite), shifting of the teeth, temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ), speech impediments, an increased risk for periodontal disease and a greater chance of tooth decay.

Dental Checkup

Dental Crowns
Dental Crowns are a type of dental restoration which, when cemented into place, entirely covers or "caps" over the portion of a tooth that lies at and above the gum line. Since dental crowns encase the entire visible aspect of a tooth, a dental crown in effect becomes the tooths new outer surface. Crowns can be made out of porcelain (meaning some sort of dental ceramic), metal (a gold or other metal alloy), or a combination of both. Dental crowns are routinely made for teeth that have broken, worn excessively, or else have had large portions destroyed by tooth decay.

Dental Implants
A dental implant is a metal fixture (usually a screw) that is placed into the jaw bone. It acts as a support for a false tooth or a set of false teeth. The fixture fuses with the jaw bone (osseointegration). Implants are made of commercially and medically pure Titanium. This is the same metal that has been successfully used in hip replacements for many years. It is inert and is not known to cause any type of rejection phenomenon.

In dentistry, a veneer is a thin layer of restorative material placed over a tooth surface, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth, or to protect a damaged tooth surface. Dental veneers are custom-designed shells of tooth-like ceramic material that, when applied over the surface of a tooth, can cover worn tooth enamel, uneven tooth alignment or spacing, and chips or cracks. Worn enamel: Over time, the thin, hard white substance covering your teeth (enamel) may become worn, dulled, and discoloured. Such wear and discoloration may be natural or the result of a genetic predisposition; however, it is often a result of your habits (soft drinks, tea or coffee consumption, smoking, medication use, etc.). Wear and tear: Teeth naturally wear down as people age. Aged teeth are more likely to have chips, cracks or a generally uneven appearance. Crooked or Misaligned teeth: Certain people may be born with abnormal spacing between the teeth that grows wider as they age. Uneven teeth: Uneven teeth can result from tooth grinding or general wear and tear. Regardless of what causes unattractive teeth, dental veneers may solve most or even all of your cosmetic dental issues.
